She let him sit with it overnight.
Not deliberately, not as a strategy. She had gone to sleep genuinely tired and she had slept well and she had thought about the fire conversation once at some point in the night and then she had thought about it again in the morning when she woke up and she had decided that it needed to be said properly rather than in pieces.
After breakfast, when the twins were with Ferris looking at the map he had of the eastern approach, she found Vaelor near the water stores doing something that did not specifically require him to be there.
She said: "You were jealous."
He said, without looking up: "We covered this."
"Not properly," she said.
He looked at her. He had the specific expression he had when he was deciding whether a conversation was going to be worth the difficulty of having it.
She said: "I'm not making fun of you. I'm trying to finish the thing you started last night."
He looked at the water stores.
"Okay," he said.
