Urdon Pov
I woke up to pain that was somehow worse than when I had first been injured. Every part of my body screamed in agony.
The wounds across my chest had never properly healed. Without enough food my body could not repair itself. The famine was fighting against any healing my wolf tried to do.
"I am still alive," I whispered. My voice came out dry and cracked. "Somehow I am still alive."
I opened my eyes slowly. The darkness was still there. Complete and total blackness that had not lifted even once since that terrible night. How long had it been. I had lost track of time completely.
"Urdon," Freda's voice came from beside me. "You are awake. Thank god you are awake."
"How long," I asked. "How long have I been unconscious this time."
"Three days," Freda said. "You have been slipping in and out. Sometimes you wake up for a few minutes. Sometimes you sleep for days. I never know which it will be."
