Reis had never imagined he'd be so glad to see the guardian. Then again, there were many things he had never imagined.
Good things. Bad things. Awful things.
Similarly, he had never thought he'd reach out for this demon of his own volition. But he had, multiple times.
But none of that was like right now. It was either to hide from something, to fool someone, or because of a lost sense of safety.
The sense of safety was still missing. But other than that, his only reason for extending his hand now was for himself. A small part of him that was still conscious wanted to reach out.
Even if he knew it was a bad idea. Even though it might just be a foolish thing to do.
Which wasn't anything new for him, was it?
Reis didn't know. He just wanted to get out of here.
"Who-how did you get in!?"
The guardian glanced at the man who actually managed to remain conscious after that hit. Well, it was only a physical hit, so it was possible.
