Lucian didn't even tap the brakes as he swung the dark SUV through the iron gates of the estate, the tires screeching loudly against the wet gravel driveway.
"Woah, woah! Slow down, dickhead! Don't get us killed before we even reach the porch!" Azriel yelled from the back seat, gripping the headrest in front of him so hard his knuckles turned white. "I have a very bright future ahead of me, and it doesn't involve dying in a ditch because you're throwing a silent tantrum!"
"If we're having a funeral tonight, Azriel," Lucian growled through gritted teeth, his eyes fixed dead ahead on the lit path, "I assure you, it will be yours."
Azriel gasped, his jaw dropping so wide it was almost impressive. "How dare you say that about me?! Your own flesh and blood! Your baby brother! You're brutal, Lucian! Unfeeling! Heartless!"
"Shut the hell up, both of you," I warned from the passenger seat, not taking my eyes off my phone screen. "We're home. Act like civilized human beings for once."
