Koa's POV
"You test my patience, Koa," Father said as he sat down.
From the way everything was set, I could tell he had just walked in. And Lucien and Uncle Louis had clearly been waiting.
"My apologies, Father," I replied curtly. "But before you start reprimanding me about dignity and self-control concerning Lucien—"
Lucien scoffed.
"I'd like to know why you went ahead and made a press release introducing me as your son," I said, keeping my tone calm.
"Yes, Father, I'd like to know why too," Lucien added, and I fought the urge to snap at him.
"What is there to question, Koa?" Father said nonchalantly, scrolling through the files on the desk. "I did it because that is how it ought to be. The world needs to know you as my son."
A humorless laugh slipped out before I could stop it.
I stared at him, stunned. I couldn't tell if he actually believed what he was saying… or if he simply didn't care about the weight of it.
