Sansa's POV
I followed the guard in silence even though the worse has happened. I couldn't help but feel scared about why I was being summoned.
I expected him to take me to the Chief's office, but instead, he led me outside.
A knot tightened in my stomach.
Punishments were never carried out in open spaces… unless they wanted people to see. But that would be for grand punishments like treasonable acts, had they found my act treasonable? My thoughts spiraled, but the moment I stepped out, they scattered.
The Chief stood there and he wasn't alone. Rowan was with him.
I was confused. What was he doing here?
"Mr Pierce will be seeing you," Silas said his tone neutral. With that said he left and excused us.
I felt a small wave of relief loosen the tightness in my chest when I realized this wasn't what I had expected. I wasn't about to be dragged in front of people and punished.
But the relief didn't settle.
If anything, it only made me more uneasy.
