Koa's POV
I couldn't help the small smile that crept onto my face.
Even though my plan had been discovered and didn't unfold exactly the way I wanted, it was enough. Chelly was still humiliated—even in her grave.
And that alone satisfied me.
I had put in too much effort for it to succeed.
After meeting Philip the other day, I realized that what he said was truly right.
There was no easy way to pull it off. The security was tighter than I anticipated. Every angle was covered. Every movement is monitored.
So I did the only logical thing I could think of.
I adapted.
I dressed like one of the workers in the early hours of the morning. I had already gathered information about their schedule. Since they were a hired company—one that dealt with waste and ground work—they always wore protective overalls.
"To avoid contamination," they said.
It made slipping in effortless.
