~Soutarou POV, listening to Professor Oak's story~
"As expected Xerneas engaged Yveltal without hesitation, but what we didn't expect was the horror we would be met with that day… it was an event that threatened not only Alola, not only the entire planet, but the entire universe, perhaps even ones beyond our own…"
"At first the situation wasn't that bad and our group surged through their ranks with ease…. Until it wasn't, and Necrozma, who had gotten ahold of Lunala and absorbed her, summoned what could only be described as thousands of flooding ultra beasts, Pokémon with strength not inferior to that of weaker legendaries…"
"It would be an understatement to say we were overwhelmed, if not for Soutarou's efforts alongside his Diancie, forget saving the world, we wouldn't have lasted ten minutes. That was the day I got to see not a champion level trainer, not a master level trainer, but a legendary level trainer. With his command of Xerneas, A complete Zygarde, Darkrai, Marshadow, Diancie who could evolve beyond her normal form, his Greninja which was able to evolve further somehow, and his Charizard that using a stone could emulate his Greninja and Diancie, he singlehandedly stopped and pushed back a force of nearly three thousand ultrabeasts into the ultraspace and then defeated that merged form of Lunala and Necrozma as if it were a child…"
"Just as everything was going right… Yveltal targeted his Diancie, in a last minute effort to harm Soutarou… and to Soutarou his pokemon were worth the world and so in the one moment he used teleport and apportation to swap locations with his Diancie and he took brunt of the attack head on… At the same time we had just finished dealing with the pair of Deoxys and destroying their cores… The end result was we won… but the cost was too great…"
"Soutarou was gravely injured with his life energy fading and unfortunately for us, the cost of sealing Yveltal meant Xerneas too fell into a slumber, thus it was unable to save him. We watched as our friend, the strongest person alive… was turned to stone. He's the greatest hero of the entire world, but unfortunately a forgotten one."
"Still most higher ups know this… When we founded the league in the aftermath with Goodshow taking the lead… We hid the truth not to prevent the public from knowing of the Hero, but to prevent villains and evil from getting their hands on the power of Necrozma or Yveltal. As for Soutarou…"
"The League's Headquarters in Alola is named Summers Headquarters as is Alola's conference, which is known as the Summers Conference, and the league's main headquarters here in the Indigo Plateau is named "The Great Azure Palace" after the 蒼 kanji from his name and mimicking his 太郎 naming the it the great just as he is the great son."
Soutarou's mood turned somber while his mind raced, 'He had the same powers as me?!? No he was rich too… meaning… his template was probably just like mine… not to mention from the way Oak put it that Soutarou actually survived the initial hit from Yveltal… meaning he probably had Xerneas' Blessing too… This… looks exactly like me too? This is too much of a coincidence… Not to mention it looks like… this guy he had and used Mega Evolution too… Battle Bond Greninja? Ridiculous… Legendary level trainer? From the way he's making it sound… it's like that it was just another version of me, albeit replacing Ralts with Diancie…"
Soutarou's expression darkened as he thought about something happening to Ralts, shaking his head internally he maintained a saddened face and stayed quietly by Oak's side as the pair overlooked the Manor's garden all while Soutarou thought a few things, 'That also explains why Alola is part of the league… it turns out Alola was an early member in this world… and that this world is completely separate from the original timeline… Not only that from the way he talked about the Summer family wealth being split up… it's almost as if… as if it was divided up by these guys… Let me try my luck…'
Soutarou softly asked, "What happened to that group of heroes… I mean other than Soutarou?"
Oak smiled pitifully, "Well… We all headed back to our own regions… Being together was too painful, it reminded us of those days we followed Soutarou's lead. And the result is the modern Pokémon League as you know it. Mustard became the chairman of the League after losing to Melony, who seized the Champion seat and crushed the Galar Royal Family, she then instated Peony as one of her Elite Four, and spent most of her time raising her kids… or rather Soutarou's."
"Lusamine unified Alola under a single banner and crushed her opposition alongside Oliva and Wicke who became her Elite Four while Lusamine herself became both the Chairwoman and the Champion, all while similarly raising her kids… again Soutarou's."
"Geeta followed suit in Paldea, albeit her path to power was much clearer thanks to the nature of Paldea and its education system at a time when she was already the Principle of it; she later appointed Larry as her Elite Four."
"Drasna ousted the royal family of Kalos and became the first champion before being defeated by a new champion and member of the old royal family, Diantha. Now Drasna serves as an Elite Four, albeit she rarely accepts challenges and prefers to spend her time alone. Malva became Drasna's Elite Four and later challenged her for championship, and lost. Similarly, Helena- The Hex Maniac became an Elite Four of Kalos, though she never challenged for the Champion role."
"In Hoenn… Drake became the champion because Glacia had no interest in it. Though Drake has stepped down and taken an Elite Four role now under the new upstart champion Steven Stone."
"While in Unova Alder formed the Unova league, with the monarchy willing ceeding power, but remaining honorarily. Goodshow took up the role of Chairman of the entire league. While Nanu disillusioned with the world, albeit, partially and became a police officer, decidedly inheriting Soutarou's sense of justice, and later formed what we now call the international police, though he never took any leadership roles, stating that he couldn't sit somewhere he knows Soutarou should've sat."
"Pryce was worse, he became deluded that the world was fake and that heroes would always take the fall, and that the endless cycle of darkness would continue… and very unwillingly he became a gym leader and retains that role to this day. And lastly Honey… No one knows where she went after those last moments… but it was obvious that she was pregnant… so she's somewhere out there with Soutarou's son or daughter…."
Professor Oak sighed and said, "Sorry, I went a bit too deep there."
Soutarou shook his head and said, "No. Thank you, it offers a new perspective on everything. Who knew that I'm the namesake of such a hero? I'm very happy to hear it, but more so saddened that such a hero was lost. Let's do something, let's name the Phonedex and the Rotomdex something in honor of him. Tentatively I suppose the Rotomdex can stay that, the Rotodex, but we'll change the Phonedex to the SummersDex. What do you think?"
Professor Oak smiled softly and said, "That would be great. I didn't expect you to so readily change the name."
Soutarou shrugged, "It's a good name and I'm willing to bet Goodshow and several league champions and elite four will step up to promote it too. Albeit that isn't the main reason I'm doing it."
Professor Oak smiled and said, "You're pretty shameless aren't you… a lot like him in that sense…"
Soutarou smiled awkwardly and said, "Just a reminder no matter how much I look like your friend I'm not actually him."
Professor Oak smiled thinly and sadly as he said, "Trust me I know… Regardless, let's get this paperwork done and then I'd like to discuss the various Pokémon you've researched."
Soutarou smiled and said, "We can walk and talk. I suppose we could start with the Pokémon you first mentioned, Diancie. She's a fairy and rock type legendary pokémon from the Kalos region and is a rare mutation of a Carbink known as the 'Jewel Pokémon.'"
"For reference Carbink are also a fairy and rock type; they are gray, rock-like Pokémon with a conical body. Their bodies have light blue crystals of various shapes and sizes embedded in it. A white, fluffy collar surrounds its small head. It uses this soft mane to polish the gems of other Carbink."
"Another example in the data we provide there are Pokémon you mention such as Xerneas, Yveltal, Necrozma, Marshadow, Darkrai, Lunala, and even certain Ultrabeasts. For Ultrabeasts we have Buzzwole, Peremosa, Nihilego, Xurkitree, Celesteela, Kartana, Guzzlord, Poipole and its evolution Naganadel, Stakataka, and Blacephalon, and another Legendary that's the counterpart to Lunala, named Solgaleo. Additionally, Solgaleo and Lunala are some of the only true Legendaries that have an evolution process going from Cosmog to Cosmoem and later Lunala or Solgaleo. Moverover… Necrozma should be able to absorb both, not just one."
Professor Oak's eyes widened and he said, "Does that mean Necrozma wasn't in its final form?"
Soutarou shook his head and said, "Our data shows that when Necrozma absorbs both Solgaleo and Lunala it ascends into Ultra Necrozma, the great devourer of light. As Alolan mythology shows and as does Mr. Summer's and your own battle. Ultra Necrozma is right up there with Giratina of the Distortion World and Eternatus Eternamax the god of the darkest day in terms of power. These three Pokémon rank right behind Arceus, the God Pokémon in terms of power. Even the strongest of Legendaries like Dialga and Palkia aren't strong enough to deal with those three."
Oak's eyes turned grim and he nodded and said, "I'll take a look at the data once we've officially signed the contract. Though this cannot be released to the public."
Soutarou nodded and said, "Agreed. Still be mindful that some, actually a good dozen or so haven't been seen, but what we've pieced together is straight from mythology and ancient ruins."
The pair babbled and conversed freely with Oak seemingly reverting to his youth. All while Milotic and Ralts sat anxiously with Sebastian. The pair eventually separated after signing the completed contract, causing Soutarou's face to fall immediately.
'Bullshit. From everything I gathered… It sounds like this Soutarou Summers… He was just me, but born in the era before the Unified Pokémon League. He even indirectly changed the starting age for trainers, by making a comment to Oak and Goodshow that children shouldn't be set free so early….'
'So by that measure… This timeline is actually six years after Ash's original one. The timeline is absolutely messed up, but because everything shifted, it's also the same, while also different. Alola lore will be completely different, without any trace of a doubt. I'm willing to wager a guess that something changed even earlier in the timeline in this world that drove Yveltal, Deoxys, and Necrozma to join forces, as destructive Pokémon inherently don't work together.'
'And if there really was a force controlling them… Then the attack would've already repeated itself. Not to mention Deoxys shouldn't have arrived that early, nor been that hellbent on destroying our planet… I'm guessing that there's something wrong with ancient Sinnoh or rather Hisui. If something changes there, then the rest of the timeline will completely and irreversibly change. If I find out there was another Soutarou, then that other theory I'm working on almost becomes certain. That means… I need to prepare for a doomsday situation…'
'No I'm getting ahead of myself here… First, I'm getting a hold of Professor Sada and… Searching for the past Soutarous… I'm sure the League will flag that I'm looking into it, but who said I have to do it? Use this unreliable, reliable old man to my advantage. I'm not a fan of using people, but hard times call for drastic measures.'
'Now my questions are only growing larger… I really shouldn't have asked so many questions… Ignorance is truly bliss… Soutarou Summers huh? Soutarou Morita… Too many coincidences… and if I can put the dots together then others will eventually too… I shouldn't reveal my aura or power of viridian under most circumstances it seems like.'
Soutarou put his outward as if grasping for something and then putting his hand down as determination lit up in his eyes and a solid goal formed in his mind…
'The adventure begins… Let's see where the winds take us….'
"Miuuuu~!"
"Ralu~"
