Chapter 95 - Chapter 95: The Vanishing Cabinet is Stolen

Adelaide jogged all the way to Hagrid's Hut. Out of breath, she stopped and looked closely; Headmaster Dumbledore was standing by the pumpkin patch, surrounded by Amandine and several familiar-looking members of the Wizengamot.

Seeing Adelaide arrive, Headmaster Dumbledore's calm face wrinkled slightly in a frown. He asked with a hint of confusion, "Why are you here?"

Adelaide felt a bit strange hearing this and said blankly, "Didn't you call for me?"

Amandine stepped forward and gently put her hand on Adelaide's shoulder. She smiled at Dumbledore and said, "I called her, Headmaster Dumbledore. You know Adelaide has been troubled by the lack of real combat opportunities lately—this is such a perfect timing, so I thought I'd let her experience it firsthand."

Hearing this, Adelaide's face immediately flushed with ecstasy. She asked excitedly, "Does this mean the Death Eaters are making a big move? How many people do they plan to send?"

Dumbledore's deep and wise eyes stared intently at Adelaide. His white beard trembled slightly before he spoke slowly, "Alas... three days ago, Arthur sent us word from the Ministry of Magic. The vanishing cabinet damaged on Halloween was stolen from the Ministry's evidence warehouse."

Hearing this, Adelaide couldn't help but curl her lip. Those people at the Ministry of Magic were simply a bunch of useless fools; one really couldn't count on them for anything.

After the Halloween incident, the Ministry of Magic heard that Hogwarts had been attacked by a Dark Wizard, so they sent a group of Aurors to investigate the scene. Under the guise of searching for evidence, they took away the damaged vanishing cabinet from the Forbidden Forest. Little did anyone expect that in less than half a year, the vanishing cabinet would be stolen again.

Dumbledore continued helplessly, "According to confidential intelligence from our internal informant, the Death Eaters' plan to steal the vanishing cabinet was long-premeditated. The timing of their action was perfect, just as the cabinet was about to be fully repaired."

"News came again early this morning that the Death Eaters have successfully repaired the vanishing cabinet. They are plotting to use it to transport themselves to Hogsmeade Village and take the opportunity to sneak into Hogwarts. It is said that their primary goal this time is to find a way to obtain a certain amount of blood from you."

Hearing this, Adelaide couldn't help but feel a sense of blankness and confusion.

She really couldn't understand why these Death Eaters would have such a strong interest in her blood. She wasn't the savior—wait, thinking about it from another angle, she and the Protagonist Cockroach could be considered arch-enemies now... Could it be that obtaining her blood could help Lord Voldemort complete that resurrection ritual?

But the remnant soul of Lord Voldemort in the Diadem had completely dissipated!

Adelaide's mind raced. Could that escaped cockroach soul have attached itself to another of Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes?

For a moment, various possibilities flashed through Adelaide's mind, but she soon shook her head and decided not to dwell on it anymore.

Having figured it out, Adelaide looked up and asked Dumbledore, "So, what should we do next?"

Dumbledore first calmly counted the number of people present before slowly answering, "Everyone, come with me to the Hogs Head Inn to wait for the undercover's signal. Once it's confirmed that all the Death Eaters have been transported to Hogsmeade Village, we will strike quickly and wipe them out in one go. Then, using the vanishing cabinet, we'll head straight to their hidden secret base and deal the enemy a fatal blow!"

Every member of the Wizengamot present was beaming with uncontrollable excitement, because for them, this was undoubtedly a rare and excellent opportunity to fully demonstrate their abilities and value in front of the Young Master.

Among this group, Adelaide also appeared exceptionally excited.

Her bright eyes sparkled with light as she thought to herself: My Fiendfyre Loyalty Curse finally has a place to be used!

At this thought, she couldn't help but grip the wand in her hand, eager to try.

Inside the dim Hogs Head Inn, Aberforth was greeting Dumbledore and his party with a face full of reluctance.

Muttering complaints, he hung out the "Closed" sign and quickly cleared several tables and chairs for everyone to sit.

"It's one thing to use my place as a meeting spot, but now you actually want to set an ambush here? Do you really think my little pub doesn't need to do business?" Aberforth said crossly.

Just then, Aberforth suddenly caught sight of Adelaide in the crowd. His mouth dropped open in surprise, and for a moment, he was speechless.

After a long while, Aberforth snapped out of it and then shouted at Dumbledore in a rage, "Albus, what on earth are you thinking? Adelaide is only 11 years old! How can you have the heart to let such a young child participate in such a dangerous operation? If anything goes wrong, who will take responsibility!"

A look of helplessness appeared on Dumbledore's face. He waved his hand gently and spoke slowly, "This really wasn't what I originally planned... but you must not underestimate her. If we only talk about her attainments in Charms, I think Adelaide's current strength is above yours."

Aberforth looked skeptical, but despite his doubts, he ultimately said no more. He turned and walked silently behind the bar, starting to prepare delicious Butterbeer and fragrant ham sandwiches for them.

As time passed bit by bit, every second of waiting seemed exceptionally long.

Sitting to the side, Adelaide was already feeling a bit bored. She absentmindedly picked at the delicate wand in her hand, her gaze occasionally drifting out the window.

Seeing that it was almost noon, the Quidditch match must have reached its most intense climax by now.

At this thought, Adelaide suddenly realized a serious problem—the excuse she used when she snuck out was to go to the bathroom, but who would have expected that in the blink of an eye, two full hours had already passed.

Cho Chang wouldn't think she fell into the toilet and couldn't get out, would she?

At the thought of this, Adelaide felt a splitting headache. She quickly reached out to rub her forehead, thinking to herself: Once things here are over, I must immediately rush back to the stadium to report my whereabouts to Cho Chang. I only hope Cho can be magnanimous and not get too angry.
