The afternoon light filtered through the dusty windows of the newly acquired building. The old wood creaked whenever someone moved, as if the place—abandoned for years—was waking up for the first time with the presence of new forces.
Ren stood in the center of the main room, standing before a long table made of worn oak.
There was a map spread out, inks, parchments, and drawings of trade routes.
Behind him, an empty, dark wall, perfect for projecting his shadow.
The six women gathered around:
Azula
Suki
Mai
Ty Lee
Suri
Keiko
All watching, waiting.
All unaware that in that instant, Ren was deciding not just their function… but their place in the new empire he was building.
Ren took a deep breath and looked up.
His amber eyes, reflected in the orange light of the sunset, seemed like blades.
"Good," he said in a soft voice, but so certain that no one dared to breathe too deeply. "The White Lotus Company is not a common business. We do not seek to trade… we seek to influence. We do not want money… we want power. And each of you will play a fundamental role."*
He turned to Azula first.
AZULA — STRATEGIC EXPANSION
Ren walked towards her without breaking his gaze.
"We will start with you."
Azula lifted her chin, proud. The golden glow in her eyes intensified.
"You are not just my right hand," Ren said. "You are in charge of Expansion and Dominion.
You will oversee the acquisition of territories, protect difficult trade routes, and when necessary… you will remind the Earth Kingdom that even a company can have claws."*
Azula smiled.
Not a cordial smile.
A dangerous, satisfied, almost hungry smile.
"I will make sure no one forgets our name," she murmured.
Ren gently touched her chin. It wasn't a caress… it was a gesture of calculated possession.
"I am sure of it."
Suki looked away for just a second; Ty Lee bit her lower lip; Mai simply blinked.
But they all noticed.
SUKI — HIGH-LEVEL DIPLOMACY AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
Ren turned to Suki.
She straightened her spine, one hand over the other, firm as a Kyoshi leader should be.
"Suki," he began. "The Company needs a face that inspires trust, credibility, stability. A woman who can speak to nobles, villagers, and warriors without unsettling their hearts… but guiding them."*
Suki swallowed, her gaze fixed on him, expectant.
"You will be the chief Ambassador and Official Representative.
You will be the diplomatic voice of the White Lotus.
The one who signs agreements, establishes alliances, and opens doors that fire cannot."
Suki felt a warm weight spread in her chest.
It wasn't just pride… it was Ren's recognition, something she didn't want to want, but could no longer deny.
"I will do what is necessary," she replied with a firm voice.
Ren gave her a look that was soft, dangerous for how warm it seemed.
"I know."
Azula gritted her teeth without showing it.
TY LEE — SOCIAL INFILTRATION AND CROWD CONTROL
Ty Lee waited with a cheerful glint in her eyes, swaying slightly on her toes.
Ren smiled barely.
"Ty Lee, your mission will be different. You are the light among us."
She blinked, confused but happy.
"You are our specialist in Social Relations," Ren continued. "You go where the others cannot. You listen to rumors. You observe behaviors. You win the empathy of everyone you meet."*
Ty Lee's mouth formed an "o," illuminated by excitement.
"You want me to make friends? I can make a thousand!"
Ren leaned toward her, brushing a strand of her hair.
"Exactly. And each of those friends… will be a resource."
Ty Lee nodded vigorously, not fully grasping the depth of his words.
MAI — FINANCES, INTERNAL CONTROL, AND RISKS
Mai was at the back, arms crossed, dead expression.
Ren walked towards her without haste.
"Mai," he said. "You see things others ignore. Your cold mind is necessary."*
Mai raised an indifferent eyebrow.
"You will manage Internal Administration and Risk Control.
Finances, contracts, hidden accounting, dangerous movements. If something threatens the integrity of the Company… you will be the first to know."
Mai sighed.
"Sounds… tedious."
Ren tilted a smile.
"It also sounds perfect for you."
She blinked. It was the closest she'd come to blushing.
SURI — CHIEF INTELLIGENCE AND ESPIONAGE
Suri kept her back straight, muscles tense, and eyes sharp.
"Suri," Ren said. "You are our shadow.
Information is power, and no one gathers information like you."*
Suri bowed her head with minimal, professional respect.
"You will be the head of Operative Intelligence.
Infiltration, reports, secret routes, coded messages.
You will know what the Earth Kingdom knows… even before they do."
Suri replied in a low voice:
"I will obey."
But inside, a spark of ambition began to burn.
KEIKO — SECURITY AND DETERRENT FORCE
Finally, Ren turned to the imposing Keiko, who crossed her arms over her defined torso.
"Keiko. Your hands are stronger than fire itself."
She smiled barely. An almost animalistic gesture.
"You will direct Private Security and Executive Force.
You will guard territories, protect cargo, resolve physical conflicts.
You are the barrier between the Company… and any enemy who wishes to challenge it."
Keiko nodded without hesitation.
"I will bring down anyone who gets in the way."
Ren looked at her with full acceptance.
THE FINAL DECLARATION
Ren returned to the center of the table, and they all formed a semicircle in front of him.
"Today begins something greater than us," he said in a quiet but deep voice. "The White Lotus Company will not conquer the world with fire…
but with influence.
With power.
With connections.
With you."*
Azula approached his side without asking permission, touching his arm with possessive intent.
Suki took an involuntary step forward.
Ty Lee smiled wider.
Mai watched with suspicion.
Suri analyzed the tension.
Keiko advanced a little, as if wanting to mark territory.
Ren looked at them all with the calm of a king choosing his queens.
"And when the world wakes up," he concluded, "it will already be too late to stop it."*
The Company had been founded.
And Ren's empire… had just begun to take shape.
