It was either kill a Demon or allow Kai to die, and Kai knew that even that had affected the Angel far more than he had let on in the days since.
He was more muted, he smiled less, and Kai began to contemplate if his celestial magic may be tied to his emotional state.
Kai's shoulders slumped in defeat and he crossed the room, wrapping his arms around his waist when he reached him, feeling the cold of his skin through his thin shirt.
"Uri, I'm sorry. That was too far. I'm sorry I said that to you. I know you love humans. Let's find another way. Just like we said we would, right?"
Kai knew how much Uri valued life.
He had struggled to uproot a weed after all, even hesitated to kill a being that was objectively evil in that cave, and now Kai was asking him to take an innocent, human life so his father could live.
