Kaius Seraphall opened his eyes and stared blankly up at his ceiling.
Rather than stars and planets, the plain wooden beams were back in their rightful place, blocking the sky from view.
He felt sensation returning to his limbs and began to move his arms experimentally before slowly sitting up, his eyes landing on the small leather pouch.
"By the angels...what the ever loving fuck was that?" He mumbled, dazedly.
Demetra had noted that they would cause him to feel strange, but whatever Kai had expected, it wasn't that. It wasn't an utter absence of feeling, the weightlessness, that starry void that swallowed him whole in a comforting haze of nothingness.
Even now his emotions still felt dampened.
They were still there, humming persistently at the back of his mind like an echo, but as he moved through his usual morning routine, Kai's steps felt just a little too measured, robotic.
