When he walked back inside of Rami's room, two pairs of blue eyes snapped towards him, one ocean blue and filled with unguarded concern and the other bright but steady.
Kai was uncharacteristically quiet but he forced himself to smile, his cheeks aching with the effort of it.
"Well, we have a back up. Two chances are better than none, right?" He babbled, rubbing at the back of his head, "Shall we get some rest? I'm beat. It's been a long day. Come on Uri, Rami needs to get some sleep too."
Uriel nodded in agreement, waving goodbye to Rameses with a grin as he made to follow behind Kai.
But before he could leave, Rami's hand shot out and grasped Kai's wrist firmly.
"Kai...are you ok?" He asked him, his low husky voice as flat as it always was and his hand just as warm.
Kai pulled his arm away from him and stepped back, "Yes, of course. Everything is fine." He replied, equally as flat.
Rameses raised a dark eyebrow but didn't challenge it.
