When two hours were left, Genova had here eyes bleeding trying to form shapes and colors in her mind so aggressively.
"I dont want to be here when it collapses, I refuse to be here when the entire world collapses. It's too scary."
"What a disappointment. My little angel is a fallen angel. Unable to fly to Heaven, it nosedives to perdition."
"I will be there, Ismael. Give me some more time. I think I'm seeing it."
Esia took charge of what was going on.
"Do not lie about the Terminal, young woman. It knows what you think and what you say. You've never prayed before, so it leaves you by yourself."
"Why should I be on my own?! I'm worthy of life!"
"Terminal is not life, it is beyond that exactly."
"What are you all talking about? I'm going crazy over here! I don't know what it is! Help me! I'm suffocating around here!"
"Hey Genova." Ismael crouched to her, hand on top of her head. "You're done."
"How can you say that? I know I have a chance."
"You don't have any chance at all. I was the blind one and I was chosen for my prayers and my repentance. Such is the harsh truth. This entire cosmos is about to burst and you'll crash onto it."
"I won't. I'm confident I'll see it."
"You were never ready to take on the climbing. You've grabbed onto the wrong mountain and climbed your way to hell. Never have you considered giving your life to the Lord, and now that you have your life on the line, now that all that you knew is about to fall, you realize the obvious and absolute presence of the divine."
"All of you are poisoning my mind to gatekeep me from Heaven."
"I used heaven as a broad, general term. Vague and vaste, as an image. An allegory. You've never seen heaven you never will. It is called the Terminal, and your station stops right before ours. You're going to a more obscure path."
Genova took a moment and hid alone in the library, looking at books, as randomly as she was, skipping important passages, overlooking the crucial details. But after approximately an hour and a half, she found a book that was laying around, and Ismael heard her mumbling to herself in a corner and went to investigate.
He saw her and the moment he arrived, Genova passionately said the word "AMEN" out loud.
"I've found the book, Ismael. I'm going too."
"Oh, you did? Well, what can I say? Congratulations. Hope to see you there."
"You were pretty insane for a moment, I hope this was just tough love."
"It was, it really was."
Ismael told her to keep praying and went back to Esia, Yael and Geulsang Zhao. While they were talking, he thought to himself.
"I've switched the book of the Dragon God with the GrimWar of Loovis. She didn't realize it was the wrong one because I wrote "amen" at the end. Right now she's in bliss, thinking that she found the Saint Graal. Knowing that she is doomed, might as well make it easier on her while we're here."
The ambience was heavy, a powerful and respectful silence before all collapses. The vision increased for the four of them, in clarity, meaning and other senses. In opposition, Genova had become completely insane despite her apparent calm. Her mind was racing so much, out of landmarks and feeling rejected, that she ended up seeing things that did not exist.
In her madness, she thought this was the Terminal. She did not know until the last second, when the world ended not in the loudest series of horrifying, incomprehensible noises, but in a deadly silence, a simple event where a light appeared all around the four of them.
Ismael, from inside of his jacket, took the book of the Dragon God and showed it to her, before leaving in a higher realm, leaving her all alone and defeated.
There was the true ending to the legend of Genova, a woman who lured in darkness and insanity, crying in complete despair, gasping for air and screaming in agony. Left alone to howl and make a mess of the place, books falling everywhere.
After it was already all over, she still prayed and prayed, a long prayer, maybe thirty minutes, where the tears fell to her hands, that she brought to her face.
The emptiness that she felt was unreal, impossible to relate to, and no one would ever want to identify themselves with this. A metal shard in the heart, a long, eternal suffocation, a burning emotion.
Not a glimpse of hope, as Kanna entered the room and started screaming at her. Thinking she was the last one alive in the cosmos, she had a visceral reaction to it and shot her in the head twice.
"You think you can hurt me?"
"The...the Lunatics are still here?"
"We can go wherever we want, whenever we want. Can't say the same about you."
"What do you want?"
"I want to know how deep you can go in fear for me. How depressed you can be, and for how long you can go."
"I just shot you, you should be dead."
"Lunatics are completely immortal, dumb Nephilim."
"Then, make me one of you."
"You want to become one of us?"
"Yes. I'll get closer to Ismael, the one I have to kill."
"If you truly wish so, we'll tell God and he'll see about you. He has a plan for each of us anyway."
"I won't go like this. I'm telling you. I won't go away like this. I won't rot here forever."
"Cankt, Konstantin, and Tami are here."
Cankt asked for a séance, where the four of them joined hands in a circle and raised their heads upwards. And after a moment of pure dread, the Lunatic lowered their heads and let go of each other's hands.
Cankt comes to Genova and announces.
"You are one of us."
In the Terminal, Ismael found Esia, Geulsang Zhao, Ambroise Ler, Helios, Yael, Nicole, Anaïs, Efalis, Loovis, Amphelise, Raven, June and Gloria.
They all saw him too and manifested a great sense of comfort seeing him there. A space of peace, quiet, angelic but almost glitching noises that they could yet understand, a sense of purity. No more violence, no more hatred.
Finally, the Angelicide was at peace.
