"Здравствуйте, Земла!"
"Tami, here you are! I was just gathering intel on the target!"
"And I was just checking in on my investment. Lunatic blood does not run every street, it runs havoc in rarity. What have you found."
"Well, I...I might have to reach out to Yael for this."
"Yael is stuck in Perseus fighting Konstantin. He's not answering anything, meaning they're still at it. Which implies your hands are empty."
Genova, bleeding out from every orifice of her body, held the fence to stand her ground.
"I hate him so much. He kills people by talking to them, and right now my organs are in shambles. I'm not making it."
"Now, don't be rash, Jen. I think I can be lax on you on this one, after all it is quite the mission you have here. But I'll give you ten hours, no more no less. After this, you're down."
Genova crumbled under the weight of his words. She woke up an hour later in Geulsang Zhao's arms, cold and pale.
"Zhao. I have to go."
"I'm afraid you can't go anywhere in this state."
"What...what state?"
"The state you're in. You're missing...quite a lot. And Tami gave you ten hours, which you already missed one by passing out."
"But Imsael, I have to..."
"Genova, as much as I admire your irrational love as well as your nonsensical devotion to him, you are in no condition to persue him. He might come to you, one day. Come to us."
"He won't."
"Then that leaves us with two options. Wait and have you die here, or have you drink up some of my blood, which would make you able to not only live long enough to find him, but also survive whatever is trashing your body."
"Surely...it's not that easy."
"No it won't be. It will effectively change you. In this superior state you might lose sanity yourself too. You might lose your love for Ismael."
"That one is not happening."
"Then get up a bit, it's time to taste the blood of a Nephilim."
"Geulsang Zhao."
"Yes?"
"I'm scared."
"I know. I'm here."
"I'm terrified. Even if I get to him, and explain, and even if, best case scenario, he does feel the same, there won't be anything left of me. I've put my entire life on the line. Even without him, without all this, I've sacrificed every dream and goal in life in search of absolute, total perfection. Which I've grasped, obviously. At the true end of everything, I remain fearful of the keeping of my soul. So, to God, wherever he roams, thank you. Ismael and I will be two angels, praying the Lord together."
"You will be accomodated to your room in the next life, young woman. Your perseverance is truly insane."
Geulsang Zhao cut his left arm a little bit with his teeth and let the flow of the his blood enter her mouth.
A sudden reaction later, a violent burst of energy spread through her entire body, an electrical discharge leaving her tensed up standing up.
Geulsang Zhao knew it was just a matter of seconds until he had confirmation of whether or not she was still herself. And deep within, despite all of the colorful imagery she had, the smell, vision and remembering of Ismael's voice had her heart skip a beat, leading her back to reality. She turned around to Zhao.
"Thank you, Nephilim."
"You're very welcome, Genova."
When she left, Geulsang Zhao smiled while looking at the flow of river. To his surprise, the water flow went thinner and thinner, unyil there was no current anymore. The sun shone to his face as he allowed himself to tear up.
"It is an end. To a tale of destruction."
This is what he had, his inspiration. Not fleeing his mind or slowly dying out, but growing, blooming, materializing in his mind. Given form, he was inspired to seek something else entirely.
"Thank you. As materialist of a person as I am, I wish to thank this place for being my one and only home, for always giving me the ability to help people, regardless of my nature at the moment. God truly lives."
He left as well, as the sewer entrance had a drop of water, maybe a tear, the last one, falling to the hot hard ground. The rays of the sun dove into the place, illuminating it. The brightness increased to the maximum, drying out the water. No more flow.
Further, Genova, while upgraded, felt utterly lost regarding to where to continue the search.
"If he's not on the bench, he may have moved on from all of us. But on their behalf, I'll bring him back. My angel."
She was startled by a presence in her back, and hugged Geulsang Zhao when turning around, realizing it was him.
"What are you doing here? What about your place?"
"No flow no longer. It is meant to follow something else, something more."
"Oh, Zhao..." She let out, of hurt to witness his compassion for her, holding on to him. "What would I do without you."
"You'd try. That's why you're the strongest woman out there. You would try as a human as well as a Nephilim. You would always try. That's why I'm following you. Now, we don't have time for this. Cankt gave you her bones, and Tami his blood. They will forever haunt you until the debt is paid."
"It is true that...I hold in my hands the bits and pieces of the Lunatics' bodies...they're in my hands."
Geulsang Zhao held her back with his right hand and walked so she would move on.
On the next two hours, they found traces, paths of smells, liquor, meth, bullets, mags, and an assault rifle pointing at the museum.
"You didn't think of that?"
"I've never seen this place, Zhao. I don't know where we are."
They went in, got lost, found their way again, took a break, and eventually ended up later on a gigantic painting a woman was staring at.
"Yael!" Genova screamed.
