Chapter 140: Rejoice! For the Witch of Hatred Has Been Born
Sonoko Suzuki, the eldest daughter of the Suzuki Zaibatsu—one of the grandest conglomerates in the Detective Conan world. Back when Mo Yu followed the series, he didn't feel much for the character. But as he aged, he realized she was actually more likable than most of the cast.
Despite being born into a family of astronomical wealth, she was low-key and never pretentious. She was kind, patient with children, and capable of handling himself at high-stakes business functions. Aside from being a standard "顏控" (face-con) boy-crazy fan-girl, she was practically flawless. More importantly, once she changed her hairstyle, Sonoko was actually one of the top-tier beauties in this world.
Among the "rich, white, and beautiful" archetypes in anime, Sonoko stood out—even if her role in Conan was usually relegated to comic relief.
Out of appreciation, Mo Yu had shown "goodwill": no need to sell her soul, just a "top-up" of a billion yen to change classes into a Magical Girl. It was a massive discount, a super-saver price. Of course, whether Sonoko could perceive this goodwill was not Mo Yu's concern.
Sonoko's mouth remained taped shut, allowing only muffled protests. Professor Agasa was like an ant on a hot pan, pacing frantically. Clearly, he wasn't thick-skinned enough to demand research funding from a hostage.
"Just let her go," Agasa pleaded with Mo Yu. "Whatever you want, I'll give it to you for free!"
Mo Yu raised an eyebrow. "Relax. My word is absolute; even if the world ends, it shall be fulfilled. A mere 1.1 billion? Even if this Suzuki brat doesn't pay, I can just wander into the 'jungle' and beat up a few black-hearted Presidents whose time is up. It'll take minutes. I only brought her here to save you the trouble of waiting for the funds."
"No, no, that's really not necessary...!" Agasa waved his hands frantically.
"Whatever. Let's chat later. I want to check the goods!" Mo Yu ignored them, strutting over to the support rack where his custom "Magical Girl Transformation Trial Card" hung.
Agasa rushed to peel the tape off Sonoko's mouth. She glared at him, hissing: "Professor Agasa! I never thought you'd sink to kidnapping for research money! Isn't this a bit much!?"
Because of Shinichi and Ran, Sonoko knew the Professor well. Seeing this "honest-faced" elder fall so low was a shock. Agasa could only smile bitterly and explain the "coercion" as he untied her.
Mo Yu ignored the drama. He scrutinized the product. Perhaps due to the Stand ability, the prototype was highly polished. Conan's world had its own Tokusatsu shows and "Kamen Yaiba" (Masked Rider), and Agasa had built the suit in that style.
Since it wasn't painted yet, it was a pure black, full-body rubber bodysuit. Beneath the surface was an exoskeleton device to enhance power conduction and reduce stamina consumption. A lining layer designed to stimulate acupoints via electricity and magnetism was encapsulated beneath the frame. The batteries providing the power were shaped like circular ornaments on the exterior.
Overall, the look was solid!
Mo Yu didn't understand the tech, but his Omniscience Authority did. Following Mo Yu's will, the Authority donned a white lab coat, pulled out a stethoscope, and performed a full "look, listen, and question" audit. Finally, it gave Mo Yu a thumbs-up!
Mo Yu had given up on questioning the Authority's bizarre antics. He was simply impressed: the tech wasn't limited to footwear; it worked on the entire body. The energy consumption was surprisingly low—tiny solar-charged batteries could trigger massive outputs through micro-stimulations.
According to the Authority, this tech and armor would even be functional in the Bleach world. In game terms:
Magical Girl Transformation Suit (Prototype):
Strength +25%, Stamina Consumption -25% (Exoskeleton Bonus).
Charisma +1000 (Exclusive to Bodysuit Enthusiasts).
Skill: [Electromagnetic Drive Burst]: Enhances output by 100%, 300%, or 500% during an attack.
Ran Mouri's base output was already "building-shattering." If she wore this, Mo Yu estimated she'd reach "skyscraper-shattering" levels.
Now that's a true Rider Kick, Mo Yu thought. He decided to have Agasa mass-produce these. He wasn't a hardcore bodysuit fan, but he didn't mind collecting a few special editions. Plus, he could send these to Bleach, find some agile Soul Reapers, and film Tokusatsu movies in Hueco Mundo using Hollows as extras.
"A suit this cool needs a motorcycle to match," Mo Yu muttered. "I'll farm a mob for one later. But first... basic testing."
He turned to Sonoko. "Young lady. Interested in trying this on? Since you're a test subject, I won't charge you for the 'Beta Access' code."
Sonoko, now free and rubbing her sore wrists, looked at Mo Yu with caution and fear. She hadn't forgotten how he'd bypassed her bodyguards in his amorphous monster form. She knew her family would send help, but until then, she couldn't afford to offend this mysterious creature.
She looked at Agasa. Knowing he'd been "forced" to make it, she was wary. Agasa reassured her: "Don't worry, I have professional ethics. Even under duress, I wouldn't leave safety hazards in the design."
"Go on!" Mo Yu smiled.
Sonoko reluctantly put on the suit with Agasa's help. The comfort was average—Agasa's materials were cheap due to lack of funds, making the armor a bit stiff.
But her frown vanished the moment she activated the muscle-enhancement button. Driven by electromagnetic force, her foot crushed the floor tile into powder with a single step.
As a daughter of a zaibatsu, Sonoko realized the value immediately. In the Stand Era, humans remained fragile while their Stands fought. This gear allowed the User to be an active combatant.
She tested a "500% Burst" and bent a steel pipe with ease. "This is incredible!" she exalts. But Agasa quickly stopped her. "Enough! Stop the test!"
Sonoko soon felt why. The moment she rested, her body throbbed with the pain of a thousand marathons.
"The tech puts a massive load on the body," Agasa warned. "It's not suitable for the elderly or young girls."
Mo Yu laughed. "Where science fails, Magic compensates! That's why it's a Magical Girl Suit. Now, simple testing isn't enough to satisfy me. Young lady... are you ready for a real transformation and a deep-dive test run with your cute mascot?"
Sonoko blinked. "Wait... there's actual magic?"
"Of course. Fairy tales have witches and dragons; they are the condensation of incredible dreams. In this domain, anything is possible. By the way, the first transformation has an unskippable sequence. Be patient..."
Before Sonoko could ask, Mo Yu switched from cat to amorphous monster and lunged at her.
Tentacles wrapped around the bodysuit, turning into black pus that seeped into the material, giving it the texture of living flesh and scales. The Moriarty shard hidden deep within Mo Yu glowed, embedding itself into the armor.
The suit mutated, twisted, and eroded. The power of Moriarty—the Absolute Evil—reshaped the tech into a magical artifact.
Sonoko screamed but was paralyzed by the scene. Her Stand emerged to stop it, but was snagged by the suit's tentacles and devoured, merging into the armor.
A normal magical girl transformation is flamboyant and graceful. Sonoko's was a descent into cosmic horror that made Agasa's sanity plummet.
A sinister whisper echoed in Sonoko's ear:
"Young lady... I bless you with my flesh. Discard reason, embrace chaos. Use this blade to liberate the truth the world has locked away..."
Lethal killing intent slammed into her soul! The suit didn't have a helmet, but it didn't need one. Black pus flowed over her face, hardening into a hideous, snarling mask.
Sonoko no longer cared. A intense Hatred was blooming in her heart. She didn't know what she hated, but it burned like fire.
As the process ended, Agasa stared at the terrifying figure that was once Sonoko. "Sonoko? Are you... okay?"
Before she could speak, a majestic, sacred voice boomed from the heavens:
"Rejoice! For Sonoko Suzuki has awakened under the blessing of Chaos! The Magical Girl who tramples all, lashes all, and shreds all has been born! Her name is BLACK HATRED! She is the Witch who inherits the glory of Absolute Evil! She shall carry out the malice of Love and Truth, becoming the Apostle of Chaos to burn the world!"
Agasa looked up, baffled as to where the background music and narration were coming from. Sonoko slowly lifted her head. Her eyes through the mask were dull, and her voice was cold:
"I'm fine. I just... feel irritated. I want to... shred something."
"Go, Black Hatred," the whisper echoed. "We have tests to run. Later, your friend RED KILLING INTENT will need to try this gear on too..."
Sonoko walked out, her pace quickening until she was a blurred arrow. She smashed through the basement wall and vanished!
Nearby, a "Bosozoku" biker with a pompadour was locking his brand-new motorcycle outside a convenience store. The moment he paid for his cigarettes, he heard a crash. He looked out to see a figure dressed like a Masked Rider on his bike. The lock shattered instantly, and the engine roared.
He stared at the clerk in disbelief. "Did you see that? Some Masked Rider freak just stole my new bike!"
The clerk nodded. "I saw it."
The biker roared in rage, "DAMMIT! That's the second time this week!"
Sonoko sped away. Black qi flowed from her into the bike, causing it to twist and mutate into a sleek, demonic machine. Its speed tripled.
Sonoko's eyes remained glazed, like a sleepwalker. Mo Yu, analyzing the "unreasonable hatred" flowing from her, smiled silently.
One case is an anomaly. Three samples make a pattern.
First: The First-Loop World truly existed. Second: Conan wasn't the only one who went insane.
