DHI3SV? Chapter 237 The Old Antique is Invincible, How Could She Be Killed by Seven Traitors!
Fu Hua's memories from her time as a MANTIS left Kiana and Bronya deeply shocked. Bronya deduced that if all of this were true, then these must be memories from the previous civilization. This also meant that Fu Hua was not only the protector of Shenzhou but a warrior who had been fighting the Honkai since the era of the Last Civilization!
Yet, Fu Hua had never mentioned any of this to them. This left Kiana feeling a sense of loss. Why did Fu Hua always have to bear everything alone? Bronya, however, proposed another possibility: perhaps Fu Hua herself no longer remembered these fragments. For players who had already played through Fu Hua's Chronicles, they knew Bronya was right. It was a tragic realization that even Fu Hua had forgotten her own past.
After viewing this memory, Kiana and Bronya relayed what they saw to Lin Zhaoyu. Lin Zhaoyu was somewhat surprised and told them that in Shenzhou, the Honkai was referred to as "True Qi" or "Demonic Qi," and the Taixuan Sword School had only one rule:
"The Corrupted Must Be Slain."
Four simple words that hid untold blood and tears.
In the memory of the next feather, Kiana saw Fu Hua as the Celestial, during her time with Cangxuan and Danzhu. They traveled together, eliminating demonic beasts that troubled the locals. But Fu Hua's condition was wrong; she often felt dizzy, and this was her third time fainting this month. Her headaches were becoming more frequent.
Cangxuan watched Fu Hua with concern. Fu Hua was different from them. Because the Meta-Morph IC (Fusion Factor) granted Fu Hua's body incredible regenerative powers, it focused first on the brain, keeping her brain cells continuously active. Her lifespan was nearly infinite, making her immortal, but it also meant she would eternally retain all memories. For her, forgetting was a luxury that was hard to achieve.
Those memories would constantly multiply in her mind, eventually filling it to capacity. These memories became a burden, and her headaches were the result. Cangxuan told Fu Hua that the reason the Doctor gave her Fenghuang Down was because it could remove unused memories. If she was reluctant to lose them, she could separate them and store them temporarily within the Divine Key.
But Fu Hua did not want to discard those memories. If they were discarded, her life would be fragmented. When she looked back at the past, she would no longer know where she came from. She would see her younger self, wearing a stiff uniform, face full of fear and confusion... but she wouldn't know who that self was, or how she became who she is now. She would even forget why she had persisted for so long. Fu Hua begged Cangxuan to let her keep the memories for just a while longer.
However, that night, she overheard a conversation between the two.
["Sigh, the results are exactly as the Doctor predicted."]
["Hua is starting to develop self-recognition disorders. Her rejection of memory manipulation is becoming very clear."]
["...do you think it's time to execute the next phase?"]
["Sister? What's your take?"]
["I don't want to."]
["Why?"]
["I... I'm not that great. Surviving back then, entering the cryo-pod, accepting the mission to assist the Celestial... it was all just following the Doctor's orders. I don't like the Doctor, and I don't like this mission. I'm just fulfilling a trust."]
Cangxuan sighed. ["...But I like Hua."]
["Mhm, I feel... the same. Rather than executing MEI's plan or the rebirth of the world... I want her to have a life of her own. Not living to eliminate the Honkai or protect humanity. Not as MEI's weapon. Even if it violates orders, I want to stop the Celestial from becoming 'that way'."]
["...All we can do is delay the Doctor's plan."]
["That's enough, sister. We will die, but the Celestial will live on. She will meet many, many people, won't she? They won't know the Doctor's plans; they will treat her with sincerity. This is her story; our part ends here."]
The dialogue left Fu Hua with a sorrowful expression, and it tugged at the heartstrings of the viewers in the stream. Whether it was Cangxuan or Danzhu, they both truly cared for Fu Hua, thinking of her future and hoping she could have her own life. However, neither had the ability to walk beside Fu Hua forever.
[Damn this lifespan logic! I'll blow it apart with a punch!!]
[Over the eons, Fu Hua must have bid farewell to everyone she knew, one by one. I can't imagine how she endured those departures again and again while guarding Shenzhou for thousands of years.]
The memories of the sisters left the audience in despair. For Fu Hua, immortality was more like a curse that haunted her through the long ages. Watching those around her leave while she remained powerless—the thought alone was enough to induce hopelessness.
"Sigh... I can understand now why the Old Antique became such a stiff, old-fashioned person," Senti sighed. "If it were me, living that long and experiencing so much, I'd have gone crazy long ago... and looking at later events, she eventually used Fenghuang Down to split her memories, even though they were precious to her..."
Otto added with some emotion: "Precisely why I believe Fu Hua is a remarkable character. Over a millennium, she forgot time and again, yet remained steadfast in her duty to protect Shenzhou and civilization..."
Senti glanced at him and snapped, "And then she was tricked into working for a certain Schicksal Overseer and took a bullet to the head..."
Otto gave a dry laugh. "From what we know now, it seems Fu Hua remained in an injured state after a certain event and never fully recovered... the Schicksal life-support pod healed her physical damage. No wonder this new 'Fu Hua' can wreak havoc at Schicksal and World Serpent."
"After all, the Old Antique is a MANTIS! She sat at the same table as Kevin! It's only natural she's powerful, hmph!" Senti tilted her head proudly. "But now this powerful body is being handled by yours truly, Fu Senti! Old Antique, admit I'm a real one! I slaughtered my way through Schicksal and World Serpent for you! Consider that revenge settled!"
Fu Hua sweat-dropped at her sister's pride. What are you saying, kid? Taking my body to go on a rampage, and according to the 'Rebirth' short, you're going to attack Bronya and Kiana later... She had a strong feeling that Senti's character in the game was going to cause big trouble.
Soon, the subsequent plot left Senti dumbfounded. Kiana and Bronya found Lin Zhaoyu and asked about Fu Hua's time as the Celestial. They learned from Lin Zhaoyu that five hundred years ago, the Celestial had taken seven disciples. The parents of six of them had been corrupted by the Honkai and turned into monsters, and were slain by the Celestial. But the Celestial had adopted those six children, brought them to the Taixuan school, taught them the Sword Ki, and gave them a home.
However, those seven disciples eventually conspired to backstab and kill the Celestial. Lin Zhaoyu spoke casually, as if recounting a mundane event. But those simple words left the audience stunned.
"K-killed??" Senti widened her eyes in disbelief. She stared at the screen and rubbed her eyes to make sure she hadn't misread it. The Old Antique was killed by the disciples she raised? Are you kidding me? How is that possible? The Old Antique is invincible! You're lying to me, right? It has to be a lie!!
Before Senti could even begin to curse, Lin Zhaoyu's further narration made her feel as if the sky was falling!
["It was a midnight."]
["The Celestial returned from down the mountain. Logically, she should have been greeted by her first disciple, but she did not come. Instead, it was the seventh disciple, Qin Suyì. It was against the rules, but the Celestial suspected nothing."]
["Qin Suyì walked up the mountain with her Master. Along the way, she wanted to tell her what was about to happen... the words were at the tip of her tongue."]
["Unfortunately, the second disciple, Su Mei, appeared. She was always like that—making the perfect move at the perfect time... she arrived, and the seventh disciple's words remained choked in her throat."]
["The three returned to the Fuyun Temple. The moment she stepped through the door, the Celestial knew: all seven of her disciples were within the temple."]
Under Su Mei's planning, the seven surrounded the Celestial. However, the first disciple hesitated to strike, losing the chance for a preemptive strike and only buying enough time for one sentence. But one sentence was enough for the Celestial. She was immortal; any injury would heal rapidly. Her only weakness was her head. Losing the initiative meant it would be extremely difficult for the seven to pierce her head.
But the fifth disciple struck. She was the strongest of the seven and the only one to master the "Sword God" technique. That strike was perfect, hitting exactly between the eyebrows. For an instant, the Celestial lost her regenerative power, and in that same heartbeat, six swords pierced her body. The invincible True Immortal, the Celestial, died just like that.
Lin Zhaoyu's narration made Senti unable to stay in her seat; she leaped up instantly.
"Those bastards! Those sons of bhes! Ungrateful white-eyed wolves! They all deserve to die, every single one of them!!" Senti's eyes were red, radiating an intense murderous aura. No one doubted that if she were there, she would have skinned those seven traitors alive. "Those wolves! The Old Antique adopted them, fed them, clothed them, even taught them martial arts! And this is how they repay her? Tui! Disgusting, fing disgusting!"
A furious Senti almost punched the monitor, stopped only by Fu Hua grabbing her from behind. Everyone at Mount Taixuan knew Senti was a lawless "problem child" and only Fu Hua could handle her. As the saying goes, an elder sister is like a mother; to Senti, Fu Hua was both her sister and a mother figure. Seeing her favorite person treated this way, Senti wanted to charge in and go full Sett—grabbing heads and slamming them with a "Show Stopper"!
Her anger was only natural. While Otto had annoyed her before, these seven traitors immediately went to the top of Senti's hit list! The chat erupted like a geyser as fans of Fu Hua vented their fury.
[Is this even humanly possible? Treating your Master like that?]
[Sure, a blood-grudge against parents isn't easy to forget... but the problem is people without Honkai resistance turn into Zombies and Honkai beasts! Do they think those monsters would care if you were their child? If Fu Hua hadn't killed them, they would have killed the disciples!]
[once you're infected, you're gone. even if she hadn't killed them, it wouldn't change the outcome. I don't believe those seven studied martial arts for years without knowing what happens when you're corrupted!]
[If not for Fu Hua, those traitors would have died in a ditch long ago! Disgusting, truly disgusting!]
The outcry against the seven disciples was even louder than the crusade against Otto. After all, Otto had his own charisma, which made people like him despite being a villain (even if they still wanted him dead). But for the seven traitors, there was no such nuance; everyone just wanted them dead.
Oh. They technically already are dead, since ordinary humans don't live that long... Damn it, that's not satisfying at all! Can't we get a dedicated challenge stage to give the seven traitors a piece of our mind and teach them some respect for their elders?!
"Mhm... but something is fishy here," Otto noted. Though he also found the betrayal distasteful—it was like his handpicked subordinates stealing company secrets and jumping to a rival—he remained much calmer. "Perhaps there is a hidden truth... I don't think seven disciples would target the Celestial without cause. Maybe something changed..."
Senti widened her eyes: "Ha! What are you saying! Regardless of the reason, they killed the Old Antique! Betraying one's Master is a fact! No reason can change that! A traitor is a traitor!"
"True, as you say, regardless of the reason, the fact that they conspired to kill her is undisputed," Otto shook his head. "But because of that, we need to know why... If we don't even know why she died, it only benefits the wrongdoers."
Fu Hua raised her hand slowly and said awkwardly, "While I hate to interrupt... based on the plot, my in-game self didn't actually stay dead, did she?"
"I-I know that! But I'm still mad! Hmph... curse you Su Mu, you said this chapter was my time to shine! why knife the Old Antique? ...Wait, she didn't die, so it's not a knife... Aaaaah, whatever, it's still annoying! I really want that guy to clench his teeth and take one of my punches!"
Otto coughed. "On that point... I share the sentiment." He too wanted to hit Su Mu with a Rising Dragon Punch. That inhumane brat—did he know how many times he'd caused Kallen to kick Otto out of bed?
[Exactly! The Old Thief is too much! Streamer, can you punch him for us!]
[Yeah, if you punch him on stream, I'll donate a 'Rocket' immediately!]
Facing the chat's encouragement, Senti looked at Otto solemnly. "Lord Otto, I knew it. You've been tortured by that Su Mu guy too! How about this: we form an Anti-Su-Mu Alliance. We'll camp outside MiHoYo after work, put a bag over his head in an alley, and give him a beating..."
Otto broke into a cold sweat. This kid really does just do whatever comes to mind. "Student Senti, didn't you say just a moment ago that Su Mu was your 'sworn brother' and 'dearest friend'?"
his words made her pause, then she looked at the camera with a wistful expression. "See? That's how it is. Su Mu is my brother, my dearest friend..."
[B*ard Old Thief donated 'Skyscraper x1'. Come draw for prizes!]
Senti's expression shifted instantly. she slammed the table and stood up: "I meant to say—you gotta pay more!!"
[Death to the Old Thief donated 'Skyscraper x10'. Come draw for prizes!]
Senti stood at attention immediately: "Void Vault configured, Might of An-Utu unleashed! who is Su Mu? I shall end his life!"
Despite her loud shouting in the stream, Senti called Su Mu immediately after the broadcast, practically wailing and rolling around over the phone. "Su Mu! Su Mu! My good bro, I'll give you half the money! Please, just let me record a video of me punching you, really, it won't hurt, I promise it won't hurt at all!"
Su Mu was utterly speechless. You little brat, one punch from you and I'd be lucky to keep my life.
