Naruto and Sasuke stared in shock at the Tailed Beasts, now suppressed by the Gracious Deity Gates. The sheer magnitude of such power was something neither of them could hope to shake. Sasuke's Sharingan trembled; he realized that even his Indra's Arrow would be unable to move a single one of those gates. This Gracious Deity Gates was terrifying, a vast, sovereign power, a supreme law capable of suppressing all things in the world.
"Naruto, do you really believe what Kanon said?" Kakashi asked.
"Yeah..." Naruto nodded, gazing in the direction where Kanon had vanished. If the Infinite Tsukuyomi was a falsehood, then Kanon's persistence, the flower field in her heart, must be something far more perfect. Since it was something good, and it was Kanon's faith, how could he, her best friend, not support her?
Naruto narrowed his eyes, offering a smile to the group. "Don't worry. I believe in Kanon."
"I used to misunderstand her all the time. I thought she was on the wrong path, and I desperately tried to drag her back to my side. But I never stopped to think about the consequences if I had succeeded. Could I have truly accepted the outcome? Just as Obito said, I was merely running away, forcing my own ideals upon her."
"I was so afraid. Afraid of who I would become if something happened to her. But I know for a fact that if I hadn't been running away, I wouldn't be the person I am today. Yet, even so, Kanon always treated me as her best friend. So, this time, I want to understand her. In this final moment, I want to support her. That's what a best friend does, right?"
Watching Naruto's beaming smile, Madara, standing in the distance, twitched his mouth in silent frustration. "Naruto, you're only saying that because you can't beat her."
Naruto's face flushed red, and he glared at Madara. Seeing the look in Naruto's eyes, Madara sighed. "Looks like I hit the nail on the head."
Madara then addressed the group softly. "Since you grew up with Kanon, you know exactly what kind of person she is. She is simply pursuing the dream in her heart in a different way, a shimmering field of flowers where everyone can truly open their hearts to one another. I, too, am looking forward to it. That is why I entrusted my dream of peace to her."
Listening to Madara, Naruto nodded. He looked around at the God Tree's thickets and the remains of countless ninjas, including his own peers. All of them had been slain by Madara, Kanon, and Obito. Facing these three Uchiha who had ignited the Fourth Great Ninja War, his expression turned melancholy.
"In a perfect field of flowers, sacrifice is a necessity, Naruto. You are too naive," Madara whispered.
Kakashi and Sakura approached Naruto and Sasuke, staring at the Uchiha elder. "It's all over now. It's time to undo the Infinite Tsukuyomi."
Madara nodded slightly. The Infinite Tsukuyomi was indeed a mistake. "Kanon will undo it herself. From the moment my dream shattered, I understood my path had failed. But Kanon has set sail again, carrying that 'dream' of mine. Her purpose was never to harm anyone. Just wait and see. This time, Kanon will ascend to the absolute pinnacle."
As Madara spoke, Kakashi and the others froze. In front of them, a vortex of roses manifested. But this vortex was different from those of the past; the scenery within was visible to all. It wasn't just a field, but a vast sea of flowers, with islands of blossoms floating in the sky.
In the center of this breathtaking garden stood a girl. Her eyes were red-rimmed; she had clearly been crying. Kanon was beautiful, a beauty beyond description, as if a goddess had stepped out from the depths of the stars. Her face and figure were flawless, devoid of a single defect. Clad in her Uchiha red trench coat, which danced among the petals, she stood as if hovering in the air. She was devastatingly beautiful, yet heart-wrenchingly sad. It was hard to imagine such a talented girl was only fifteen years old.
Kanon stepped out of the Flower Realm, her movements light, her voice ethereal. She walked toward Naruto and the others as the vortex closed behind her. In her hand, she held a seed. The chakra fruit Konin had refined had already been consumed. Only the seed of her own, first "Invincible Law," the Infinite Flower Realm, remained, shimmering with iridescent, divine light.
Seeing the group's dazed, entranced expressions, Kanon nodded slightly. She was so beautiful in this moment that everyone, even Sakura, was captivated. She raised her hand, placed the seed of the Infinite Flower Realm into her mouth, and swallowed. Nothing happened, but Kanon remained perfectly calm. There was one final trigger condition...
Kanon smiled at Naruto. "Naruto, I want to go somewhere."
Naruto paused. He knew exactly where she meant. "Let's go."
Kanon dissolved into countless petals and vanished. Naruto rushed toward the same destination, the others following close behind. Soon, they reached Konoha, to the Uchiha district, and finally, the cliff overlooking the village, the very place where Naruto and Kanon had first met. It was a scenic spot that overlooked the entire village and the Hokage Rock.
When Naruto arrived, tears welled in his eyes. Kanon was already there. The spot where they used to sit had been replaced by countless flowers, forming a small field. The girl stood in the center.
She no longer wore her Uchiha coat. She was dressed in a simple, elegant white gown that danced in the breeze like silk from the clouds. The design was minimalist yet exquisite, perfectly accentuating her graceful figure. A simple shuriken necklace lay against her neck, gleaming faintly. As the breeze stirred her dress and long hair, she looked like an elf of nature, fused with the scenery, indescribably beautiful.
To Naruto and Sasuke, she looked exactly like the girl they had always envisioned as the most beautiful, the most joyous. Sasuke felt his heart tearing. Throughout her life, had Kanon ever truly been happy? The question was like a blade etched into his soul.
Naruto, on the other hand, collapsed to his knees, sobbing. He finally understood what Kanon was planning to do.
"Naruto... come here," Kanon said. Her voice sounded like a countdown, making it nearly impossible for Naruto to move.
In the brilliant garden, colorful flowers swayed, releasing an intoxicating fragrance. Yet, this beautiful sight had become the stage for a coming tragedy; pure, yet sorrowful. A force seemed to push Naruto forward; it was Madara, who was crying himself, yet moved Naruto toward her.
Naruto stumbled and collapsed beside Kanon, just as he had when they were children. Kanon reached out, offering him her hand just as she had so many times before. Naruto looked up, his heart racing as he stared at her smile, a smile so beautiful and gentle that it stole his breath away.
"Can you still stand, Naruto?"
Naruto nodded, placing his hand in hers. She pulled him up, and for a moment, they stood there like they had when they were kids, looking out over Konoha. But times had changed. They were now at the pinnacle of the ninja world. Naruto looked at the girl beside him in her white dress; she seemed not like a ninja, but like a deity of this garden, intoxicatingly beautiful.
