Idir turned around only to see Tair conjuring several massive black spikes, driving them straight toward him. Reacting instantly, Idir forced Eanu back and narrowly dodged the fatal blow.
He stared at Tair in pure fury. "Tair! What do you think you're doing?!"
"Killing you," Tair replied, his voice chillingly cold.
Idir looked at him in utter disbelief. "Why? We grew up together. We're brothers."
"Because as long as you're alive, Penny will never see me." A fierce, murderous light filled Tair's eyes, though his tone carried a hint of desolation. "I've worked so hard for all these years, and she had finally started to open her heart to me. But the moment you reappeared, everything was ruined. Do you have any idea? Just a glimpse of your back is enough for her to completely forget I even exist."
