"Wow! What a beautiful little courtyard!"
A delighted smile blossomed across Kate's face. It was in a girl's nature to be unable to resist beautiful things.
Strictly speaking, this was the first time she had ever come into such close contact with roses.
She gently bent down, bringing the tip of her nose close to the petals. The warm breath she exhaled caused the roses to sway softly, making them look like tiny fairies dancing among the flowers.
"Thank you very much, Evelyn. I really like this courtyard. In return, I can let you live a little longer."
The corners of Evelyn's mouth twitched slightly.
"Well, I truly must thank you for that! Come on. Let's go inside and take a look first!"
Evelyn pushed open the door. The interior of the house was just as clean and tidy as the courtyard outside. Although the furniture looked somewhat old, every single piece had been kept exceptionally clean.
