I screamed, using every bit of strength I had left to shake them off. I thought I just needed one small opening, but these men were professionals. They moved like machines. Before I could draw another breath to yell, a heavy hand clamped over my mouth, cutting off my voice.
The man in the suit watched me struggle with a tired sigh, as if I were a difficult child and not a person being kidnapped.
"I know you don't believe me," he said, his voice calm and flat, "but we really don't intend to hurt you. So just come along quietly."
He expected me to believe that while his goons were pinning my arms behind my back? I thrashed violently, my whole body writhing, but it was useless. These men were twice my size. It reminded me when I first met Elara. Those guys were also the same but more violent.
