"…What do you want from me?" Hiro asked quietly.
His voice was guarded, as though a door that had accidentally been left open had just been slammed shut once more, hiding away all the secrets one might have simply gotten a glimpse of without a proper explanation.
Izack looked at Hiro for a long moment before the tension in his shoulders eased ever so slightly. Then, unexpectedly, a faint grin twisted across his face, surprising even himself.
"What do I want?" he repeated, almost amused by the question.
Hiro didn't reply just yet, his guarded gaze never leaving the alpha. He had no intention of lowering his guard again. Not after what Izack was doing right now.
"I just want to be your friend."
The answer was so simple that Hiro almost laughed.
"…Friend?" he scoffed, repeating slowly and raising an eyebrow. "You are using what I told you to keep a secret to be my friend?"
Izack nodded without the slightest hesitation.
"You hung up on me last night."
