"I still don't understand why you're doing this." Hiro broke the silence as they climbed the few stairs leading to the front porch.
Beside the stairs stood a field of flowers. The sweet smell coming from them tickled Hiro's nose, causing him to take in a deep breath.
It was refreshing.
The scent alone could send him back to years ago.
"Doing what?" Izack turned toward him, genuinely confused.
The beta stopped in front of the front door before slowly looking over his shoulder.
He didn't answer immediately.
Instead, he simply frowned.
The expression alone seemed to ask: Do you really not know?
Izack opened his mouth, intending to ask another question, but stopped himself.
It didn't take him more than a second to understand. Hiro was talking about the threat, or rather, what Hiro believed to be a threat. He still thought Izack intended to expose Jin's existence if he refused to cooperate.
The realization made Izack lower his gaze for a brief moment.
