Thrown aside, Yoshio and Daisuke came to their senses almost immediately, jumped apart in different directions, then took defensive positions, blocking metal stakes flying at them at enormous speed.
Ten seconds after the first explosion, things began to subside a bit, and the two Jonin couldn't fail to notice the figure hovering in the sky.
""Water Release: Water Bullet Technique! " Yoshio growled, firing a powerful water jet at Kenshin standing in the sky.
""Doton: Iwadeppo no Jutsu! " Daisuke supported him, burning with rage over his maimed arm.
Kenshin easily dodged the water jet, but hundreds of stones flying at enormous speed caused him some trouble. He dodged most without issue, and cleaved the rest with his katana.
The Jonin, seeing that everything was the work of one man, flew into a rage and began attacking Kenshin with all sorts of long-range techniques. And although their physical power allowed them to jump hundreds of meters high without issue, they didn't dare leave the ground in battle with a flying enemy, fearing to become fish on a cutting board.
Kenshin didn't waste time and, while reinforcements hadn't arrived, decided to use the remaining mega-bomb. He threw regular bombs downward several times, from which both Jonin tried to stay away and instantly fled their landing trajectories.
He deliberately threw bombs without telekinesis to give the enemies a false sense of control, and after five thrown bombs, Yoshio and Daisuke stopped fearing these explosive fuin so much.
Kenshin wanted to completely dispel their fear, but due to the approaching sons, he had to act much more actively. Among the next batch of thrown bombs, he placed that very one, and barely held his position in the air, expending enormous effort to impart the strongest momentum to these balls.
Yoshio and Daisuke's reaction was slightly delayed, and only seeing the enormous speed of the metal balls, especially the particularly large one, did they start scattering in different directions. Unfortunately for them, all bombs were thrown in different directions, and the two friends aimed to avoid the largest explosion.
A few seconds later came a series of the most powerful explosions, and even Kenshin was forced to retreat to not die from his own bomb.
The two enemy Jonin nearly avoided the main bomb's effects, exposing themselves to much weaker explosions, hoping to defend with Water Release and Earth Release.
Daisuke was incredibly lucky and escaped serious injuries, getting only a slight concussion of internal organs from several blast waves. Yoshio was much less fortunate, and after the explosions subsided, his right hand was completely shattered while trying to block a metal spike flying at his face.
The two friends' desire to destroy Kenshin rose to a new level, and it was mutual. Kenshin gave in to his emotions and, without waiting for reinforcements, decided to descend to prevent the enemies from escaping or devising a better tactic.
He began attacking them with shuriken throws, filling them to the brim with psionics that enhanced both cutting properties and speed. However, the two Jonin had fought other shinobi hundreds of times and were excellent at dodging flying shuriken, even such unusual ones capable of piercing their tough flesh.
Exchanging knowing glances, the two friends instantly coordinated actions honed by years of joint training and battles.
""Water Release: Gekiryūdan! " Yoshio shouted, lightning-fast forming a chain of hand seals, creating a huge water column in the air.
""Fuuton: Shinkūjin! " Daisuke supported him, barely fitting into the time frame with one working hand.
The water column, infused with wind chakra, instantly grew in size several times over, expanding into a massive water tornado.
Kenshin made a swift attempt to retreat, but due to the enemies' control over fuuton, his flight speed slowed several times. Clenching his teeth and cursing himself for excessive haste, he continued retreating until he shuddered, seeing Daisuke finish forming another technique.
""Doton: Kaido Shokutsu! " Daisuke growled with a beastly grin, and right under the water tornado, a huge mass of soil rose and then compacted strongly. The tornado slowly began sucking in huge stone chunks and spinning them to unimaginable speed.
Seeing all this, Kenshin felt a painful stab of bad premonition. He accelerated even more, but no more than three seconds had passed since the water column appeared, and his speed was too low.
Suddenly, one of the swirling stones shot like a bullet toward Kenshin and nearly hit his head. He dodged at the last moment, regaining x200 concentration. Following the first, three more stones flew, one of which Kenshin took on his sword, barely cleaving it in two.
He was shocked at how tough these stones had become, saturated with the Jonin's powerful chakra, and knew that missing a few would cost him his life.
Fortunately, Yoshio and Daisuke were fully focused on executing this joint technique and couldn't launch additional attacks, or Kenshin would have faced a tragic fate.
The next stones flew much faster than Kenshin's fragile body could react. He clearly saw each stone's flight, but his body barely coped with boulders coming at cannonball speed.
This time, four stones flew out of the tornado instead of three, and for the first time in a long while, Kenshin felt enormous fear. He perfectly understood his limit was three stones at a time, and the fourth would inevitably hit somewhere.
Everything happened exactly as he thought. The fourth stone hit his left shoulder. For a split second, an invisible barrier flashed and burst, absorbing 80% of the impact force; the remaining momentum hit the exo-suit straight on, sending Kenshin into a completely uncontrolled, chaotic flight.
He didn't stabilize his air position right away and became a perfect target for the two Jonin, who had no intention of giving him a breather, and the stones flew even more actively.
This time there was one more, and Kenshin realized he wouldn't cope even with three. He knew surviving three stones would be very problematic, because even after the barrier collision, the impact force was several times stronger than Ichiro's strike.
Kenshin gathered all his strength and literally infused his muscles with psionics. Dodging the first stone, he miraculously managed to deliver two horizontal strikes, slicing through two boulders threatening his health, but the remaining two inexorably closed in on his body.
