In a second, they exchanged a dozen blows, and Twenty Second was sent flying. Haro wanted to rush after him and not let the enemy recover, but Seventh, Fourth, and Eighteenth weren't going to just watch their brother get killed.
"Fire Release: Goukakyuu no Jutsu!" Two brothers growled, combining efforts. The resulting fireball, though not very large, possessed stunning temperature and density.
Eighteenth meanwhile did as his mother taught him and sent his shadows around the other way to give the opponent no chance.
"Water Release: Suishouha!" Haro roared, swiftly forming several seals. An enormous amount of water appeared out of nowhere under his feet, completely surrounding him and creating a five-meter water veil.
A small water column formed from the huge mass of water and stretched toward the fireball. The five-meter fireball hissed as it slammed into the water mass and began evaporating it. But Haro fully controlled all the surrounding water and suppressed the enemy technique without issue.
"Shadow Needle Jutsu!" Eighteenth whispered coolly, and five thin shadow strips burst from under Haro, aiming for his legs.
With a will, he managed to suppress three shadow needles, destroying them under the water mass, but his concentration wasn't enough for more. Two shadow needles pierced his foot with difficulty, penetrating the extremely tough flesh of the Jonin.
Haro just clenched his teeth harder and leaped away from the shadow needles embedded in his flesh. The wound, though not dangerous, slightly affected his speed, making it impossible to use full power.
"Fire Release: Ryuen Hoka no Jutsu!" The recovered and arriving Ichiro roared.
Several dozen small fireballs in the shape of dragon heads flew toward Kobayashi Haro. Having survived many battles in his life, Haro wasn't afraid of this technique at all and used his controlled water to create a water veil facing the incoming fireballs.
But at the last moment, when about twenty meters remained to Haro, the fireballs began disappearing one by one and reappearing in completely unexpected places for the Jonin.
He didn't have time to react, so he could only create a thin water membrane around his entire body. He deflected some fireballs without issue with hands surrounded by a thick layer of water, dodged others on pure instinct, but still, about ten fireballs hit his back, head, and legs.
The thin, five-centimeter water membrane wasn't enough to absorb all the heat from the simultaneously exploding fireballs, and Haro suffered severe burns all over his body. A Jonin's flesh was very heat-resistant, but even so, all his clothes burned away in an instant, part of the skin charred and burst, and the left eye, so unfortunately close to the epicenter of a fireball explosion, fully cooked and went blind.
Kobayashi Haro himself experienced a huge pain shock and, losing control, took several breaths, getting a severe lung burn. His wild scream was heard for several kilometers, but unfortunately for his opponents, Haro was a very strong Jonin, and his resilience was on an otherworldly level.
Kenshin knew that after such, the enraged Jonin would be much more dangerous, so he forbade the other sons from approaching the wounded enemy and, from high in the air, decided to attack himself.
He took a deep breath, concentrated 90% of his remaining psionics, poured part into his own body with gigantic losses, and used part as the strongest impulse, literally shooting downward like a rocket. His speed at that moment exceeded a bullet from a pistol, and even x150 focus barely allowed him to act at such speeds.
Kenshin instantly appeared near Haro and aimed a precise strike to pierce his head. But even the wounded Jonin wasn't that simple and sensed huge danger. At the last moment, he managed to dodge a bit, and Kenshin's sword slammed into his right shoulder with monstrous force, severing his right arm along with part of the collarbone.
Simultaneously with the dodge, Haro poured almost all his chakra into the "Water Fang" technique and managed it before collapsing from pain shock due to the severed arm.
As soon as Kenshin finished his strike, a "fang" of compressed water, weighing ten tons despite small size, struck him from the side. But for Kenshin, it was more than enough.
The invisible barrier collapsed instantly, and Kenshin barely covered his face with his hands before flying off in an unknown direction like a bullet. With his small body mass, Kenshin felt only part of the directed impulse, like a small leaf in the air hit by a fist.
Ichiro instantly rushed after his father, teleporting the enemy's severed arm to himself, and ordered his squad to use long-range techniques to destroy the disoriented enemy.
"Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation!" Seventh and Fourth shouted.
"Wind Release: Breakthrough!" Twenty Second supported them.
As soon as their techniques combined into a thirty-meter wall of flame and engulfed Haro, Eighteenth formed seals and added his own: "Water Release: Water Bullet Technique!"
A high-pressure water stream instantly burst from his mouth, only a bit weaker than Haro's at the battle's start, and Eighteenth sliced the entire area where the enemy was, lengthwise and crosswise like a laser.
And though the enhanced katon technique didn't let suiton spread fully wide, the directed stream was extremely dense and easily punched a small breach in the ocean of flame.
"Father, are you okay?" Ichiro asked worriedly to Kenshin, who had flown over a hundred meters away.
"Clever how this scum sent us, father and son, flying with his filthy techniques!" Kenshin declared with a laugh, getting to his feet. He immediately scanned the entire area and clearly saw a smoldering humanoid figure under the ocean of flame.
"You worked excellently." He praised all his sons with a smile, and after the flames died down, carefully extracted a layer of earth with the charred body lying on it. It was burned almost to ash, and after some examination, they concluded Haro was dead.
"Phew, what a bastard... For some reason, I thought we'd deal with an ordinary Jonin in no time..." Kenshin muttered with a sigh and removed his mask. His entire face was smeared in blood, and his nose was badly deformed, caved inward.
"Father, you're wounded!" Twenty Second exclaimed shocked and rushed to him at full speed, then activated "Mystical Palm Technique" and began examining the injuries.
"Just a broken nose, no big deal." Kenshin replied. In his past life, he'd already experienced that nasty crunch when the nose caves in, but many years had passed since then, and this time he wasn't a twelve-year-old kid planning to collapse from pain.
"Ahem, yes, broken nose. I'll fix it now, don't move." Twenty Second said, gaining confidence. During patient treatment, he was filled with unshakable resolve and without second thought told his father what to do.
Utterly shocked, the other brothers could only silently watch as Twenty Second grabbed his father's nose and yanked sharply. A clear crunch sounded, and then Kenshin had to spit blood for about a minute. In literally five minutes, Twenty Second used the mystical hand to treat Kenshin's wound, and the only signs of the former fracture were slight swelling and bruises starting under the eyes.
"Thanks, now check Ichiro. That stream hit him hard. Fourth, cut the hand off that arm and put it in a bag so we can show it as proof of completed work." Kenshin ordered, and everyone began following his instructions.
Twenty Second found a huge bruise across Ichiro's entire chest, four cracked and two broken ribs. In ten minutes, he fused them so Ichiro could return home without issue.
Fourth didn't sever the incredibly tough bone of the defeated Jonin on the first try but managed and wrapped it in a small hermetic pouch. Part of the target's body was perfect for confirming mission completion. Items the target had carried for over a month, and at least a week before death, also worked.
All this applied only to those whose chakra prints were known to Konoha. Registering a chakra print in the archive wasn't hard—often one Konoha shinobi team encountering the target and returning to the village sufficed.
