Chapter 122 - Chapter 122

Hitomi and Kasumi stared at the screen in shock, watching the unimaginable sight of the half-awakened bijuu trying to destroy the enemy. Pain could only barely fend off the attacks and flee.

They couldn't keep up with commenting on what was happening on the screen, so they quickly watched to the end. Seeing the sealing of the tailed beast, the victory over Pain, and the resurrection of all Konoha's residents.

After turning off the TV, both girls sat silently for a while, thinking. A huge weight lifted from each of their souls when the enemy was defeated and Konoha saved.

"Did he just give up, and after a few words decide to resurrect everyone at the cost of his life?" Kasumi asked. She could hardly believe something so banal.

"What happened on the screen has too many discrepancies with real life. I decided to show you what awaits us in the future, but the details may differ. It's quite possible Pain will be defeated differently."

"If Konoha handles this bastard on its own, then there's no point in us fighting him, right?" Kasumi suggested.

"Not quite. First, with my arrival in your world, history might go differently. Second, Pain might attack us for unknown reasons, and we'll need strength to defend. And third, as I said—he's not the main problem. The main problem is the Sage of Six Paths' mother, Kaguya," he said, pointing to the screen, which showed footage of Kaguya's power. Unfortunately, he couldn't reproduce the Fourth Shinobi World War or the battle with Kaguya, as those memories were unclear and fragmentary.

"Oh God!" Hitomi whispered, seeing the Byakugan in Kaguya's eyes. At first glance, she could tell they were eyes of an incredible level, before which all Hyuga Clan members would have to kneel.

Kenshin showed them a few more fragments, including the Ten-Tails bomb, which gave both beauties goosebumps.

Then he brought them out of the "sleep," and for the next half hour they only asked various questions. He could answer some, but not others. In the end, Kasumi asked:

"Why did you tell us and the children everything? What if someone accesses their memories and learns all your secrets?!"

"That's exactly why I told you now, not half a year ago. Based on the Hyuga Clan's slave seal, I developed a formation that will destroy the carrier's brain if anyone invades their mind," he said, hurrying to reassure the two beauties.

"This formation is a last resort so that a captured person isn't tortured to death. It's better to go painlessly than betray family secrets and die in agony. Besides, I don't plan to install it on you. You're my beloved girls, and if the enemy reaches you, it means it's all over," Kenshin said with a sigh, stroking both beauties on the back. They pressed against his chest, and Hitomi said:

"I want you to install this formation on me. Better to die than fall to the enemy and harm those I love more than life!" Hitomi declared resolutely.

"I agree with her. I'd rather die than reveal our secrets or fall into the enemy's clutches," Kasumi agreed with her friend.

"Girls, I really appreciate your love, but this formation isn't for you. You're not warriors and shouldn't die for information. I'll develop a formation specially for you if you're so firm in your convictions," Kenshin said, kissing both on the crowns of their heads.

"Fine..." Hitomi whispered, and they both pressed against his chest again. Kenshin loved that his wives were so affectionate and understanding, so he spent the entire rest of the evening calming all four wives.

Aya and Natsumi, noticing that Kasumi and Hitomi had disappeared somewhere, immediately rushed into Kenshin's room, where he had to conduct a "session" for them too. He showed them the same thing—the battle with Pain and fragments of the Fourth World War battles.

Until late at night, he had to answer questions from all four, then go to sleep in their embrace. It was cramped for them all, but the girls flatly refused to sleep anywhere but Kenshin's bed.

383rd day.

"We've been searching for several hours but still haven't found the target. I don't like this..." the Fourth thought.

"Me neither, but a mission is a mission. The client said the target is a mid-Chunin. This is a great chance to hone our skills," Ichiro replied.

"Hey you, Nakayama, why are you always silent like old Chiyo's puppets?" laughed one of the sturdy shinobi sitting fifteen meters away.

"Better that than being a talkative idiot," the Eighteenth replied. In that time, he had grown much stronger and could already resist his mother's attacks without much trouble.

"What did you say, pup?!" the fat-faced man began to boil, and all the Nakayama Family group members tensed, ready to charge.

"Calm down, these guys aren't amateurs. Thirty-four missions in four months, not a single failure. I don't recommend picking a fight with them," said the man with a bit of gray hair. From how his words affected the stocky brute, it was clear he was the team commander.

"Nakayama, don't take offense at my friend; he's a bit hot-tempered and unruly. In any case, we're all in the same boat now and should act together. Who knows what awaits us ahead," the commander said with a smile, then suddenly froze, sensing danger, and tried to leap aside.

Ichiro and his brothers reacted even faster, leaping in different directions, managing just in time to get away from the epicenter of the enemy technique.
