Chapter 121 - Chapter 121

When the image appeared on screen, Hitomi and Kasumi jolted in awe and exclaimed:

"What is that?!"

"What the..?"

"Don't be scared—it's a TV. Soon we'll have one at home," Kenshin said with a smile, hugging the two beauties. From "Shelter Creation" understanding, he knew advanced entertainment like TV or music would emerge eventually. He couldn't wait to show the girls his favorite movies, planning his next skill point there.

"God, it's a miracle... Like a person's trapped behind glass..." Kasumi whispered, stepping closer. Kenshin's words worked flawlessly, relaxing the curious cats instantly.

Spotting the screen turning serious, Kasumi and Hitomi focused and saw a strangely dressed orange-haired man casually wiping out a Konoha recon squad.

"Ah! What scum dares destroy a Konoha shinobi squad right outside the village gates? Is he suicidal?" Kasumi exclaimed angrily. Though no longer Konoha shinobi, she still held warm feelings for her home village.

Hitomi wisely stayed silent. Something in that shinobi's eyes terrified her. She couldn't pinpoint it but, being sensitive, knew he was no ordinary foe.

Suddenly the scene shifted to six more figures in identical cloaks with red clouds, shaking Kasumi's confidence. She suspected it wasn't simple and Kenshin wouldn't show this without reason.

When the girl with metal spikes on her face was thrown into Konoha and summoned all the others, Kasumi's heart skipped a beat. Although everything was drawn and absurd, she perfectly recognized the hand seals as well as the forehead protectors on the shinobi's foreheads.

"What kind of scum from the Village of Rain are these?!" snorted Kasumi, fearing for the fate of her former village.

The picture on the screen changed again, and all the enemy shinobi scattered in all directions in an instant, sowing chaos and destruction.

"Ah! What is Anbu doing, and Hiruzen-sama himself!" Kasumi fumed, seeing the destruction caused.

Suddenly, a young man with his hair braided into a large ponytail appeared in the frame, saving the woman from an attack by a giant centipede, then piercing it with shadows.

"Good thing the Nara Clan isn't sleeping! Who is this shinobi?" she asked Kenshin joyfully, proud of her clan.

"That's Shikamaru."

"What?! Little Shikamaru?!" she exclaimed in surprise. The young man on the screen only vaguely resembled the type of that obnoxious kid she often had to see. Besides, the drawn characters differed greatly from real people, so Kasumi was shocked when she learned the truth.

Kenshin decided to remain silent until they finished watching. His memories were still not complete, and many "unimportant" moments were forgotten, so in literally ten minutes they watched right up to the moment when Pain rose high above the village and used the great "Shinra Tensei."

"God, no!" Kasumi exclaimed. Tears streamed from her eyes as she saw the huge invisible wave sweeping everything in its path.

"Tsunade-sama!" Hitomi cried, noticing the woman she practically idolized. When she saw the condition of Senju Tsunade after protecting a huge number of villagers, Hitomi couldn't hold back her tears.

"Where is Hiruzen? Where is Jiraiya? Where is Danzou? Where are Shikaku and Hiashi?! Why, when the village is in trouble, is there no one to protect it?!" Kasumi shouted, in absolute rage at everything that was happening.

"Hiruzen and Jiraiya are dead. Danzou is waiting for Tsunade to die and free up the Hokage position. Shikaku and Hiashi—who knows where. In this story, they are somehow insignificant figures," Kenshin replied, seeing shock mixed with disbelief on both girls' faces.

"It can't be!" Kasumi exclaimed, worried about her Nara Clan. And although in the conflict between the Nakayama Family and the Nara Clan, she would unhesitatingly choose the side of her beloved family, the black-haired kunoichi still harbored some warm feelings for her native clan and village.

Then Naruto dramatically appeared in the frame on a huge toad, and the fight began, during which the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki managed to successfully hold off Pain's six bodies for some time. Both girls watched the battle with bated breath. What was happening on the screen was so incomprehensible to them that they flinched fearfully whenever the most dangerous technique flew straight at the "camera." Kenshin had long materialized three chairs, seating the beauties on his left and right, and sat in the middle, embracing both by the waists.

When Naruto was pinned to the ground with long spikes, the girls sighed sorrowfully, until a beautiful black-haired girl with Byakugan appeared in the frame.

"Ah, child from the Hyuga Clan, run away!" Hitomi exclaimed, feeling pity for her distant relative. She managed to notice the girl's open forehead, which bore no slave seal.

"A child of the main branch? Who is she?" Hitomi asked in surprise.

"Hyuga Hinata, daughter of Hiashi," Kenshin replied.

"Ah! Princess Hinata..." Hitomi whispered, and contrary to common sense, she worried even more. She had seen this girl only a few times, at major Hyuga Clan festivals, and little Hinata somehow didn't evoke the hatred Hitomi felt toward her father.

When two blue mists with lion heads appeared on Hinata's hands, and she began successfully fighting Pain, Hitomi and Kasumi held their breath in astonishment, right up to the moment when, instead of attacking the enemy, she began smashing the spikes in Naruto's body.

Pain suppressed Hinata without much trouble and sent her high into the air, then pulled her down. Hitomi couldn't hold back her tears when she saw the girl from her former clan pierced through in the most brutal way by a huge spike.

"Lord, what kind of monsters are these? Why can't anyone defeat them?" Kasumi asked, while her best friend cried, burying her face in Kenshin's shoulder.

"This is Pain. The six bodies are practically immortal. They share one vision, controlled by one person," Kenshin replied, stroking his fourth wife.

The events on the screen changed again, and both girls focused on the incredible release of the tailed beast. Naruto was furious and stopped holding back the Nine-Tails, instantly gaining the fox's cloak and breaking the spikes.
