Lunoire walked up to the white white haired boy and gave his shoulder a light punch "Alright, my turn now, Haru."
"You now… do I have too… can't I have a break… just for a few minutes first?" the boy asked as he was still out of breath and had placed his hands on his knees and hunched himself over slightly.
"I have work real soon so if you want to squeak in a bit more training it's right now, cause I am not going to do this after work I'll tell you that…" Lunoire said as she placed her right hand on her hip and waited for a response.
Haru sighed heavily and taking a few deep breaths stood straight up and got ready for another beating "Alright! I… I think I can do one more…" the boy said with a small smile, though that was mostly to try and convince himself that he could do as he had promised.
"Good, now bring your hands up like this… keep your elbows in and don't keep them out as far as you were keeping them.." Lunoire said as she raised her own hands up and formed her hands into some closed fists.
Haru copied her posture and once he was in position he wondered what exactly Lunoire was planning to do without a weapon. Ryuu had used her short katana, Chloe had not used a weapon but she had used magic so that made up for it and Anya had used the broken broom. So unless Lunoire had magic or some weapon that he could not see she only had her fists.
"Are… are you going to use a weapon?" Haru asked a few seconds later and before Lunoire could respond to his question as she opened her mouth to speak, the amused voice of one of the two Cat Persons caught their attention.
"She doesn't need to use any weapons… that knucklehead uses her fists!" Chloe said as she had leaned forward and had cupped her hands around the sides of her mouth and chuckled slightly as she leaned back with a smirk on her face.
"That's pretty much right… my fists are my weapons, so I will be using these instead.." Lunoire said as she shrugged slightly and got back into a tense position, her shoulder up and hands closed into fists brought up near her face.
"Alright then… so what now?" Haru asked with a slight tilt of his head to the side and Lunoire was quick to respond to the next step.
"When you are fighting anyone, monsters or people it is important to guard your vitals. Meaning primarily your chest and head, keeping your arms up like this can block most attacks and will help with your dodging as well." Lunoire said calmly as she went about demonstrating a few movements and basic shifts in positioning and once she was finished the sun was nearly above the wall of the city of Orario, though from her current position in the courtyard she couldn't say for sure but with how much brighter it was getting out she guessed they had only a few minutes remaining.
"Alright, let's give it a try now.." Lunoire said as she was ready to see if the boy could copy the movements that they had practiced and she had demonstrated in a somewhat real set of circumstances. She started by throwing a right jab and it connected with the lower half of his arm and he drew in a sharp breath that sounded more in tune to a hiss from the pressure and pain but he kept his arms up to keep himself protected.
She threw another punch this time with her left and got the same reaction, switching things up slightly she went for a pretty obvious and clearly depicted right hook and while the boy was able to block the attack with his left arm he was not able to get back into position quick enough and the second left jab that she sent his way passed through his defenses and struck his right cheek which made him stumble back slightly.
Lunoire continued her assault and threw a quick fake low, which was an attack that would just get people to break their guard and try to block lower exposing. Though people could normally counter this attack by making a quick backstep, Haru was already backing up so that stripped away that opportunity so he went to block the attack and by the time he realized his critical mistake all he could see was Lunaire's closed fist heading towards his face.
Her fist collided with the boy's face and he stumbled backwards and had a searing pain in his nose, he broke his posture and footing and brought his hands to his nose. Seeing some small patches of blood on his hands from his nose bleeding he shook his head and tried to get back into position though he briefly remembered some of what Lunoire had grilled into him during her little speech. It was about how difficult it was to get back into position while being attacked and after being broken out of an already established posture, Haru had assumed it was not as difficult as she had described but it was quite hard to find the right footing and place to keep his arms to block.
The waitress gave him a second to recover his position before she punched forward with her right again and he took another hit to his arm, the boy went to counter attack while he was still backing up slightly and that opened up a spot for Lunoire to attack the boy again. He had over extended his arm to try and reach her for a desperate counter attack that ended rather poorly for him as she brought her left hand upwards in a closed fist and gave the boy an uppercut. The final punch that Lunoire threw connected with Haru's bottom jaw, thankfully his mouth was closed or there was the possibility that he would have bitten his own tongue as his head flew back and his legs buckled. With his weakened posture his legs completely gave out and the young boy fell to the ground in a small lump, with the exception of the thud his body created as it hit the dirt the boy made no sounds and to anyone watching it was very plausible to assume that the aspiring adventurer had been killed.
For a second Lunoire was genuinely worried that she had killed the poor boy as she had gotten so caught up in the heat of the moment, in that case she was similar to Ryuu. Though her worries were put to rest once she saw the small rise and fall of the boy's chest that signified that he was still breathing.
The other waitresses had rushed over and circled around the boy and had each made their own examinations as blood leaked from the boy's nose and the corner of his mouth and collected in a tiny puddle next to his head, dampening the dirt below them with the red liquid.
"Is he dead? Hey, say something if meows are dead... Nyah." the brown haired Cat Person said as she crouched down and grabbed his one arm and shaked him lightly.
"Hey, Haru meow okay…?" Chloe said in the calmest voice she could, though she was rather concerned about the white haired boy that was laying on the ground at their feet.
"Mr. Fenris, are you alright?" Ryuu asked in an actual concerned tone as her normal blank expression had been replaced with one of worry about the white haired boy's life.
"Haru!?" a new voice screamed out for the doorway to the kitchen and the waitresses turned to see a clearly distressed Syr that quickly ran over, dropped to her knees and hugged him closely and placed her ear against his chest and listened for a few seconds. Once she had heard his heart beating she let out a long relieved sigh and went to move the white haired boy. "Thank the Gods he is just unconscious…" Syr said softly as she picked him up under the shoulders and using all of her strength pulled the boy up and placed him on her back and leaned forward to keep him there. She looped her arms around his legs just behind his knees and started to carry the boy out of the courtyard and towards the door without so much as another word.
Her main focus was getting Haru back upstairs and into a bed to rest and be comfortable, she cared not for the waitresses behind her that were all blabbering on about whatever and she cared not for the blood that was leaking from the boy's nose and mouth that was staining her nightgown.
Once she had woken up and found that Haru was not by her side she assumed that it had meant that he was training with Ryuu, not all of the other waitresses too. But that was a concern that she could deal with later on when she had a chat with the four of them for the beating they put the boy through.
"Syr...I am sorry...that wasn't supposed to happen and it was an acc—" Ryuu had been following closely behind the grey haired waitress and tried to apologize for the condition that the four of them had put the boy into, though as Syr entered the Hostess another figured stepped into the doorway and blocked Ryuu from walking any further in her pursuit.
"So… this is where you have all been lazing around, you all were doing a little training session out here? I don't remember ever saying anything about paying you all to train that kid… I pay you all to cook, clean, prepare foods and take orders. But, if you all really want to train instead of doing your jobs… that's fine too. Let's have just a little training session then, get ready… I ain't going easy on you lot." the towering female Dwarf said as she interlocked her fingers and pushed her arms out in front of her with her palms facing outward, cracking all of her fingers loudly and sending shivers down the spines of the four waitresses.
The four waitresses knew that even if they set their differences aside to face against their boss even with all of their skills, spells and strength combined they would stand no match for the Hostess of Fertility's owner that was facing them down with a frown on her face and clearly in a foul mood as the daily work had yet to be even started.
Once the pub's Dwarven owner had finished putting the staff of the Hostess back in their places and reaffirmed their real jobs and responsibilities the rest of the day was rather regular and tame. The waitresses kept their heads down and did their jobs without much needless chatter while above them in the attic the unconscious boy slept off his valuable lesson.
