Chapter 283 - Chapter 283: The Hell Roundtable Conference

After hearing the entire plan, Kly'bn fell silent.

"So?" Mephisto asked with a smile as he watched the god deep in thought.

"Is there something wrong with my plan?"

"Mephisto, you bastard!"

The moment the words left his mouth, green flames of divine energy erupted from Kly'bn's body and surged toward Mephisto.

"What are you doing?" Mephisto asked as he quickly dodged.

"What am I doing?" Kly'bn snorted coldly.

"At first I wasn't sure. I thought maybe I was mistaken."

"But now I'm one hundred percent certain."

"You were behind all of this!"

Mephisto looked startled.

"What are you talking about?"

Kly'bn sneered and opened his palm. A blazing cluster of divine fire appeared above it.

"Still acting?" he mocked.

"Others might believe your lies, but do you really think you can fool me?"

"From the moment the Skrulls discovered Earth…

to my battle with Lucas…"

"Your shadow has been behind everything."

"You've been manipulating events from the beginning, haven't you?"

This time Mephisto didn't deny it.

He simply stared quietly at Kly'bn.

"What's wrong?" Kly'bn said coldly.

"Nothing to say now?"

"Then why don't you kill me?" Mephisto asked calmly.

Kly'bn chuckled.

"Killing you would be pointless."

"This is just one of your avatars."

He extinguished the divine flames and suddenly smiled.

"But since you mentioned it…"

"Lucas is both your enemy and mine."

"So if you want to deal with him…"

"I'm willing to cooperate."

Mephisto laughed softly.

"See? Was that so difficult?"

"There was no need for all that drama."

Kly'bn merely smiled in response.

Of course he would never tell Mephisto that Lucas had already seized his divine domain.

Did he really think Mephisto was acting out of kindness?

Not a chance.

Mephisto must have some deeper objective and needed Kly'bn's strength to accomplish it.

That was the only reason he had come to recruit him.

Yes, Kly'bn hated Lucas.

But he wasn't blinded by hatred.

If he allowed that to happen, then the thousands of years he had lived would have been meaningless.

After all—

Surviving was always better than dying.

That was why he had abandoned his domain and fled the moment he realized he couldn't win.

Now Mephisto had come to use him against Lucas.

But why couldn't he use Mephisto in return?

Who knew—maybe he could even reclaim his divine domain someday.

Even if the chances were slim.

"I look forward to our cooperation," Mephisto said, extending his hand.

Kly'bn extended his hand as well.

Their hands clasped together.

Both of them wore polite smiles.

But what calculations lay hidden in their hearts—no one could say.

Meanwhile — In Mephisto's Hell

Around a long black table, several terrifying figures sat in silence.

Mephisto, seated at the head of the table, spoke first.

"He agreed."

"That fool thinks he can use us to achieve his goals."

"He has no idea I've already seen through his little schemes."

"In the end, he'll make an excellent sacrifice."

"After all… he's still a god."

Across the table, a tall figure hidden beneath a black cloak spoke in a deep voice.

"We don't care what happens to him."

"Since you've resolved that issue, we can move our plan forward sooner."

Another voice responded.

"Exactly," said Cyttorak.

"The Ancient One isn't on Earth right now."

"She seems to be tied up with something elsewhere."

"If we strike together now…"

"We have a very good chance of taking Earth in a single assault."

Nearby, a muscular demon lord with green skin and curved horns snorted.

"How simplistic."

"If the Ancient One suddenly appears, will you handle her?"

"Satannish! What do you mean by that?" Cyttorak roared, rising to his feet.

His voice rolled across Hell like thunder.

"What? Did I say something wrong?" Satannish stood as well, refusing to back down.

"We're here to discuss business, not fight."

"If you two want to fight, go back to your own dimensions and do it there!"

Another voice spoke from a different seat.

The speaker was a towering being covered in red fur with three dragon heads.

"Don't you think you both look ridiculous?"

"You're acting like newly born creatures with no intelligence."

"Just mindless single-celled organisms driven by instinct."

"Chthon!" both demon lords shouted.

"Quiet down," another voice interrupted.

Even Beelzebub had grown irritated.

"Did he say anything wrong?"

"Stop wasting time," said Asmodeus, clearly annoyed.

"Do you all have nothing better to do?"

Finally, Mephisto stood up again.

"Enough."

"Our goal is the same."

"To seize Earth and harvest countless souls."

"Arguing among ourselves is pointless."

"We gathered here because we share a common enemy."

At that moment, a figure surrounded by pale green flames spoke.

"Don't you agree?"

Just that one sentence caused the room to fall silent.

"Dormammu," Mephisto said, turning toward him.

"In this plan, you may have to face the Ancient One alone."

"Will that be a problem?"

Dormammu waved a hand casually.

"Not really."

"It's not the first time we've fought."

"Mephisto," another voice said.

Although hidden in shadows, Olivier looked directly at him.

"Your intelligence is unmatched among us."

"But your plan is extremely ambitious."

"Are you certain it will succeed?"

Mephisto laughed confidently.

"When it comes to strategy, you can trust me completely."

"Yes, yes," another voice said lazily.

"Everyone in Hell knows about your 'brilliant reputation.'"

"No need to brag."

It was Blackheart, speaking for the first time.

"Exactly," Baphomet added sarcastically.

"Just make sure you don't screw the rest of us over."

"You two could stay silent and no one would mistake you for mute," Mephisto shot back immediately.

The rest of the demon lords burst into laughter.

"Alright," Dormammu said, standing.

"The discussion is over."

"I'll return to my dimension now."

"If anything changes, inform me immediately."

As he finished speaking, a spatial rift opened behind him.

Dormammu stepped into it and vanished.
