Face to face we stood. One boiling with rage and barely containing it, and the other chewing gum like he had just arrived at a party.
"Are you going to talk? Or are you going to keep staring at my pretty face?" he spat like I hadn't already done so the moment I arrived.
He's asking for it.
"This is your last warning, Mercer, leave before I drop you." I told him, my expression turning hard.
He spat the gum out, and flexed his jaw a few times before shaking his head.
"Nah, sorry but I'm here to stay…" I cocked a brow at his arrogance.
"On whose order?"
"Oh, your wife's. See she missed me so much she called me and practically begged me to come over, so," he said nonchalantly, laying it off with a shrug as he pulled out another gum, unwrapped the paper and popped it in his mouth.
Curling my hands into a tight fist, I forced myself to breathe.
Once, twice and a fucking third but it wasn't working.
