It backfired. Or it was on the verge of. And I was losing my mind to it.
The plan was to get married to her, and slowly worm my way back into her heart, not to have Alana and Austin be in my pack at the same time.
But I guess it was my fault. I should have been upfront about the reason Alana was here. Then maybe Ruby wouldn't have brought her boy toy to our home.
It was killing me to know that she preferred spending time with him and was actively doing her best to avoid me. She didn't even sleep in the room most of the time anymore.
I'd seen her three nights in a row sleeping in the living room. It was that bad. And I hated it.
Solely because I couldn't concentrate anymore. My mind always wondered back to what she was up to, if she had her boy toy around her and if he fucking had his hands on her.
"Alpha," Chris called one time on our walk around the border. "You know letting Austin stay will only push Luna to him right?"
