The doors opened all the way.
I stood there staring at the entrance, barely breathing.
I could hear my own heartbeat. The thud thud sound felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest. I swallowed and held my breath.
The whole hall had gone quiet now.
Every single person was looking toward the doors, waiting. Smiling. Expectant.
I couldn't tell if it was just me, but it felt like time had frozen and at that moment, all my focus was on seeing Allen walk through the door.
What was probably a few seconds, felt like ages. After what seemed like forever, Allen stepped into the room.
The sight of him made my chest tighten so hard, it felt like I was going to throw up. I waited to see the said partner that came with him.
For one stupid second, relief hit me.
He was here. There's no one else.
Just when it felt like normality was finally coming back, Allen stretched out his hand and someone else stepped into view.
