The Flamedeer is impressive in that it can sense the sudden absence of a presence as threatening as well.
If Lady Violette becomes invisible to the senses, it will know.
The creature's instincts were finely tuned, its survival instincts honed by generations of predation. If something seemed off, if the world around it felt wrong, it would react, setting its horns ablaze and unleashing chaos.
However... she DID blend in with the environment so cleanly, the monster only looked our way for some seconds, its dark eyes scanning the savannah with cautious suspicion, before going back to grazing.
For a long, tense moment, I'd held my breath, waiting for the inevitable burst of heat that would signal it had detected something wrong.
All that remained was for Lady Violette to walk there and end its life.
