Valerie stumbled back, clutching at her head as her legs trembled and gave out underneath her. Her tailbone smacked against the cold, well polished floor of the ballroom, as she found herself back in reality.
Which was unfortunate for the owner of this delightful ballroom, as Valerie immediately turned over and hacked up a mouthful of a thick, viscous black sludge that was mixed with her blood.
Although to Valerie, it felt like she had been in that mind-scape for close to half an hour, in reality it had been barely a second. To everyone else, she had simply grabbed Percy, muttered something as she stared into his eyes, before she was 'shoved' backwards and hacked up blood.
It was not the best look.
Her head was ringing, and it was getting difficult to concentrate on anything as all of her thoughts were completely scrambled. Most of her minds energy was being dedicated to remembering who or what she was, why she was here and so on.
