Valerie slammed her shoulder against the door and immediately winced as the pain burst through her shoulder.
Stumbling back, Valerie gave the door a few more firm kicks before slumping back against the opposite wall with a heavy sigh.
"Aww, Looks like someone doesn't want you peeking. Maybe he's embarrassed." Her reflection in one of the well polished door handles mocked her, before laughing cruelly.
"Will you shut up?!" Valerie hissed at her reflection, which just made it cackle more.
"It's not Percy shutting me out. I don't think at least. This feels different. Like there is something else here..." She muttered to herself, before a strange cracking sound caught her attention.
Valerie whipped around, her eyes locking onto a door a few paces down the corridor and immediately rushed to it.
In the very middle of the door, the wood had split, and from it a rot spread outwards like an abomination creeping out of its cavernous lair.
