"These three Original Unown are severely wounded, and I sense the lingering stench of Miasma on them," Mewtwo said, its expression grave as it hovered beside Feng Che.
"Miasma?" Feng Che's mind raced. "Then Sakaki Tsuna must have encountered these very three in the ruins. They likely attached themselves to him, granting him psychic powers in exchange for a host. But after he joined the Pure Heaven Sect, the corruption proved too much for them, and they were forced to retreat back to this sanctuary."
"Look! Those are the legendary Unown ! and Unown ?" Lewis shouted, his excitement momentarily eclipsing his fear. "I'm seeing symbols that have never been documented in modern archeology! This is a monumental discovery! People have argued for decades whether there are 26, 28, or 30 variations. The existence of ! and ? proves the diversity is far beyond our imagination!"
Suddenly, the swarm of Unown shifted, arranging themselves into a series of ancient characters in the air:
Trial Seekers, you must pass the test of the ruins to depart. Failure means your souls will be eternally bound to this place, transformed into Unown to join our collective.
The first trial: Heal the three Ancestors. If you cannot purge the Miasma consuming them, your souls will be forfeit immediately as punishment for trespassing.
Lewis translated the text, his voice trembling so much he had to wipe cold sweat from his brow.
"Heal the Original Unown? Perfect. Purging corruption is right up my alley," Feng Che said calmly.
The Unown used their collective Psychic power to levitate the trio onto the central altar. "Master Feng Che, our lives are in your hands," Lewis pleaded, bowing deeply alongside Alivia. "We won't forget this debt!"
"Don't worry. When it comes to healing Pokémon, I don't lose."
Feng Che observed the three Ancestors. Oily black mist coiled around their frames, slowly strangling their consciousness. He reached into his storage and pulled out the Gracidea Leaf (Leaf Jewel). Channeling his Viridian Power into the artifact, it erupted with a brilliant, purifying green light.
The Miasma let out a shrill, piercing shriek as it came into contact with the life energy. It dissolved into thin wisps of smoke and vanished. Moments later, the three Original Unown regained their vibrant purple luster.
The swarm pulsed in approval, forming new words:
Young Trainer, you possess the power to check the darkness. But we must confirm your strength. If you can defeat the guardian we summon, we shall pledge our service to you.
This guardian's Mind Core was lost to the world long ago, leaving only its Primal Power. We shall inhabit its frame, acting as its mind and amplifying its draconic arts.
The Unown combined their power into a swirling vortex of mental energy. Black lightning tore through the fabric of the dimension, dragging a massive, dark silhouette into the ruins.
THUD!
Regidrago, the Dragon Titan, landed heavily on the altar.
Regidrago appeared as a dark red sphere with jagged, tooth-like patterns. Its entire body was encased within a massive, black skull resembling that of an ancient dragon. The right side formed the upper jaw and cranium, with visible horns and glowing eyes, while the left side formed the lower jaw. Its body was composed of pure, crystallized dragon energy.
"Regidrago?! It's over... we're dead," Alivia stammered, her face turning white. "To think we'd have to fight a Titan... the Unown are playing a cruel joke," Lewis added, clutching his head.
"Mewtwo, use Disable (Stone Form) on Alivia and Lewis," Feng Che whispered. He didn't want them seeing his secret weapons. In an instant, the two specialists were turned into temporary stone statues, frozen in their expressions of terror.
"Now, the real fight begins."
"Go, Alolan Ninetales! Togekiss!"
Feng Che released his Fairy-type specialists. He knew something the ancient Unown did not: Fairy-types are completely immune to Dragon-type attacks.
"I've wanted a Regidrago for a long time," Feng Che smirked. "Even without its original Mind Core, it's the most powerful Dragon-type below the rank of true God. And since these ancients don't understand the Fairy type, they won't realize that no matter how much raw Dragon energy they pump into their attacks, they can't touch my team."
