The inner plaza of Marineford was a chaotic cauldron of retreating white coats and advancing pirate banners. The strategic retreat orchestrated by Vice Admiral Momonga had successfully drawn the core strength of the Whitebeard Pirates deep into the frozen bay, concentrating their numbers directly in front of the island's primary defensive line.
High upon the execution platform, Fleet Admiral Sengoku watched the tactical coordinates shift into perfect alignment. His face was a mask of cold, unyielding resolve as he raised a golden transponder snail to his lips. "Activate the execution trap! Raise the Encircling Walls now!"
A mechanical roar rumbled from the depths of the island. Massive, heavily reinforced steel plates began to grind upward from the seafloor, shifting into place to form an impenetrable, circular fortress designed to cage the pirates within a kill zone of heavy artillery.
Yet, the plans of the Marines was violently halted. Near the central breach, the colossal, frozen corpse of Little Oars Jr. lay slumped over the mechanism. His titanic weight, combined with the thick sheets of ice locking the gears below, jammed the hydraulic pistons. The steel walls shuddered violently, sparks flying from the seams, before a crucial section failed to lift entirely, leaving a massive, yawning gap right in the center of the defensive perimeter.
"The wall is stuck!" a Marine communication officer screamed. "The pirate vanguard is flooding through the breach!"
"Hold the gap!" Vice Admiral Strawberry commanded calmly, his exceptionally tall head steady beneath his Marine cap as he stepped directly into the path of the oncoming tide. He drew his twin katanas, his demeanor serene but carrying the absolute weight of veteran authority.
Sprinting alongside him was Prince Grus, his narrow eyes tracking the influx of enemies pouring through the broken machinery. Recognizing the tactical vulnerability, Grus slammed both palms against the frozen floor, his Devil Fruit powers pulling a vast river of gray clay from the fractured subterranean layers.
The clay erupted from the ice like a surging tidal wave, rapidly filling the empty gaps where the steel walls had failed to rise. Grus manipulated the density of the material on a molecular level, hardening the outer shell into an unyielding, reinforced barrier that successfully cut off the flanking routes of the advancing pirates.
"Impressive quick-wittedness, rookie," Strawberry noted, his twin blades entering a flawless, synchronized defensive stance as the "Amigo" Pirates. A notorious New World crew allied with Whitebeard charged through the remaining narrow opening. The enemy captains wielded heavy, Haki-infused broadswords and battleaxes, swinging them with reckless, hyper-motivated fury.
CLANG! CLANG!
Strawberry moved with effortless grace, his twin-sword style executing a sequence of lightning-fast parries and deflections. He didn't just block the heavy hitters; he utilized their own momentum to slide between their guards, delivering precise, non-lethal slashes to their tendons that brought the giant pirates to their knees. "Do not falter, Grus. Maintain the barrier while I clear the pirates."
"Understood, sir," Grus responded coldly, his hands glowing with energy as he reinforced the clay bunkers against a barrage of stray cannon fire, ensuring the defensive line remained unbroken.
To the right flank of the breach, the battlefield was a storm of raw physical violence. The Decalvan Brothers, a pair of fiercely loyal twin pirate captains with heavily scarred faces and weaponized steel gauntlets, were leading a massive division of New World subordinates, tearing through the Marine ranks like wild beasts.
BOOM!
A streak of blurred movement intercepted the twin captains dead-on. Vice Admiral Dalmatian materialized in front of them, his physical frame already transformed into his formidable, spotted Zoan hybrid form. His eyes gleamed with predatory focus as he unleashed a high-tier exhibition of Rokushiki martial arts.
"Soru!" Dalmatian roared, vanishing from sight and reappearing directly in the blind spot of the elder Decalvan brother. He thrust his finger forward with supersonic velocity, the tip hardened by a flawless layer of Armament Haki. "Shigan!"
The younger brother reacted instantly, swinging his steel gauntlet to intercept the strike. CLANG! The shockwave shattered the surrounding ice sheets, forcing both combatants back. Dalmatian didn't break his momentum, immediately shifting his weight into a devastating Rankyaku that sent a razor-sharp air crescent flying across the snow.
While Dalmatian anchored the frontal assault, Kujaku glided through the chaos like a dangerous, elegant phantom. Her long legs moved gracefully over the debris, her weaponized leather whip twirling between her fingers with a wicked, snapping hiss.
"Now, now, boys, why waste all that beautiful anger on us?" Kujaku giggled, her dangerous, sultry smirk playing on her lips as she lashed her whip out in a wide, sweeping circle.
The leather bit cleanly into the shoulders of dozens of the Decalvan Brothers' top subordinates. The moment her Devil Fruit powers took hold, the pirates' eyes went completely blank, replaced by tiny, glowing hearts as they fell entirely under her thrall.
"Mistress Kujaku!" the brainwashed pirates screamed in unison, their weapons reversing instantly.
"Be good boys and clear a path for me," Kujaku commanded smoothly, resting a hand on her hip as she pointed her whip toward the twin captains. "Go on, protect your new queen."
"What the hell are you doing?!" the elder Decalvan brother shrieked in absolute fury and confusion as his own loyal men suddenly turned around, swinging their swords and axes at him with unhinged devotion. "Get a hold of yourselves! She's a Marine!"
"It's no use, brother!" the younger twin barked, forced to use his steel gauntlets to block a barrage of strikes from his own crew. "Their minds are completely gone! We're being forced to fight our own vanguard!"
Dalmatian landed firmly beside Kujaku, his heavy, canine chest heaving as he maintained a watchful guard. "An excellent disruption, Captain. Their formation is in utter ruins."
Kujaku just laughed, blowing a soft kiss toward the chaotic civil war she had just created. "I do love a man who obeys orders without question."
Meanwhile, on a high, shattered stone tower overlooking the entire western sector, a different kind of war was being waged. Heavy pirate artillery and elite snipers from the New World fleets were raining a relentless barrage of cannonballs and precision fire down upon the retreating Marine trainee squads.
SLASH!
A massive, sweeping flying slash cut through the air, slicing three incoming, explosive cannonballs perfectly in half before they could detonate over the inner plaza.
Vice Admiral T-Bone stood on the lower ridge of the tower, his terrifying, skeleton-like face twisted into an expression of absolute, tearful agony as his white coat billowed in the freezing wind. Despite his frightening appearance, his heart bled for the well-being of his subordinates.
"To target the young and inexperienced... what a horrific, heartless act of cruelty!" T-Bone wailed, tears streaming down his face as his right hand gripped his heavy, square-bladed sword. He executed another rapid, right-angled flying slash, obliterating a volley of mortar shells. "I will not allow a single scratch to blemish the lives of our precious trainees! My body shall be your shield!"
Directly above him, perched securely on a high steel girder, Hibari maintained her absolute, cold sniper focus. Her wide eyes were narrowed through the high-powered scope of her specialized rifle, completely unaffected by the chaotic explosions shaking the tower beneath her boots.
Her breath was slow, rhythmic, and perfectly disciplined. Through her lens, she bypassed the chaotic infantry movements, tracking the elite pirate commanders who were directing the artillery lines from behind heavy iron-plated bulwarks.
"Adjusting for wind velocity... three notches to the left," Hibari murmured softly to herself, her finger squeezing the trigger with mechanical precision.
BANG!
A specialized, high-velocity bullet erupted from her reinforced barrel. The round traveled across the plaza, striking a New World artillery commander dead-on at the exact structural weak point where his chest armor met the iron shoulder plate. The kinetic impact shattered the armor plating into a spray of shrapnel, throwing the commander off his platform and sending his entire mortar division into a state of uncoordinated panic.
"Target neutralized," Hibari reported quietly, quickly cycling the bolt of her rifle to chamber another round. "T-Bone-sensei, three more heavy gunners are setting up on the eastern ridge at two o'clock!"
"Leave them to me, Hibari-chan!" T-Bone roared, his square blade crackling with a righteous, chaotic energy as he lunged forward to intercept the incoming fire. "For the sake of a peaceful tomorrow, I shall cut through every injustice!"
The coordinated efforts of the veteran Vice Admirals and the exceptional elite trainees were turning the broken steel walls into a slaughterhouse of attrition. Though the pirates possessed the unhinged momentum of Whitebeard's resolve, the absolute, calculated discipline of the Marine defensive lines was refusing to break, holding the line with blood, clay, iron, and lead as the war pushed toward its ultimate, terrifying climax.
