Everyones attention shifted towards the stage, when someone pointed that the first assessment was being started. " Oh , Nathan is going first."

It was said that the city guardian was a fifth circle sword master and was from the Engrasia city. It was on the request of Trade swift logistics association. Offcourse it was non other than on request of Markram , he is a member of the trade swift logistics association.

Julius looked with admiration towards the holy stone as he spoke ," It's fascinating , even after seeing how it can evaluate anyone just by their touch for over a thousand times , still it always leaves me in awe."
It was like charector display of a game. People believed this was one of the greatest gift given to human kind. In world where human were not the only with a consciousness but it recided multiple races with knowledge and power far more than they can't think of.
Even in this kind of world human flourished , as they were large in numbers and specially gods favoured humans over other races. The gods bestowed this holy stone to human kind so they can easily awaken their abilities to the fullest.

After saying that Nathan looked towards the crowd , he smirked as his eyes met with the Max.

Nathan rebuked saying that few minutes gap doesn't matter , nathaly didn't even reacted or looked back as she walked straight towards the holy stone.

Many emotions assaulted Julius as he watched evaluation of Nathaly. For many years he worked under other priests as a junior, As a junior he watched few children to get choocen by the light goddess. He himself was once a choosen boy , he trained under church and wanted to become part of paladins or luminary , but combat was not his speciality so he had to forget his dream and focused on what he can do best for the Luminous.
One day his old friend Markram approached him with an offer he could not refuse, he wanted to become the main priest of the church , but most of all towns and cities allready had their own church and priests so he was stuck in the role of a junior priest.
Citadel city is a small area with a population that of town and it is at the top of a mountains causing many problems for transportation. Making it way expensive building a church in corner of the region, also curch thought it was not worth the time as they are running many campaigns and projects that needed both man power and money.
Julius knew that the higher ups have no plans for building a new church for time being , So when Markram approved him with the deal he accepted it without blinking, he even accepted many of the terms of contract without even reading it.
He was overjoyed as he watched the scene unfolding against his eyes, when someone gets choosen by the light goddess, it doesn't benefit the child it also broughts many benefits for the church itself. The church gets more resources from the higher ups for the good work.
Nathaly looked towards the display and looked towards her self and then she looks towards everyone , as she had become the centre of attention a smile appeared on her lips.
She could feel something is being changed inside her body, a warm feeling embraced her from within. To her it felt like , now she is not even breathing the same air as others. She looked at her brother as she made mocking smile.
Nathan was hit by the harsh reality again , his sister had always stayed ahead of him. He clenched his hands but only thing he can do is to weight for his own rise. He calmed down as he compare to the others , atleast he was only below his own sister and not to anyone else.
All praised the Nathaly and congratulated for getting the blessings of the light goddess.
" She is amazing , we will never able to come close to her."
" Amazing ? , she is freaking goddess. If she wants, I will become her guard for rest of my life."
" Do you think anyone will accept a weakling like you for their guard, you didn't even awaken the mana."
Hearing this the boy almost went into depression. Everyone ignored him like an air as they started to discuss among them again.
Max didn't involved in any of this conversations as he waited for his turn. After the sibling, it speeded up as most of the children didn't get good evaluation , most of them didn't stayed sad as they also saw few of them who will never able to use mana in their whole life.
In a world where most of everything runs by power , not having to able to use mana throws you at the bottom of the race.
Agitation started to show on Max face as his number started to come closer and closer. The junior priest Alex called out the Max name as his ni finally came. Julius was allready done , as he thought that there will be no one worth his time, he told Alex to continuously the following ceremony.
" Why are we still here , there is nothing more to see."
" Your father has told us to wait until the end , we need to look out for anyone with good potential so we can scout them."
Both siblings didn't say a word after hearing that and watched quietly. Suddenly Nathan's interest piqued as he noticed Max walking towards the stage. ' Let us see , what a peasant like you will get , you will be lucky to even get to be awakened.

Everything went silent as the holly stone showed something that no one could believe. A unown child without any background, power or bloodline got second best evaluation , he even got higher evaluation than Nathan who was constructed a sword prodigy.
Julius returned to the hall room , As he found out what had happened after getting informed by Alex. When he saw Nathaly awakened the holly attribute and was chosen by the goddess , he knew that her path for getting the role in luminary was sequared , but he was little disappointed as Nathan didn't awakened anything related to light attribute.
Now , it didn't matter as he was able find a child who had awakened light attribute and also the title that allows in becoming the paladins of the church. Julius was overjoyed with a thought of having both holy mage and holy knight coming out from his own church.
Everyone started to discuss of what or why this might have happened as they watched the evaluation of the Max.
' What happened, why are they making so much noise. did I really got something good.' thought Max as he looked towards everyones reaction. He could see the mixture of emotions on the faces of all the people as he was the centre of the attention , some started to admire him , few were jealous or unbothered but there were some who had pure hatered towards him.
" Did you see that , he also got choosen by the light goddess. It makes me so jealous. Wish I could have got the chance to."
" What are you talking about, even Nathan was not chosen. Max might have been lucky or gods might really like him."
Nathan hearing all of this couldn't contain his anger, " are they comparing me with that looser, what does it matter if I didn't awakened anything related to light attribute, I am still way more powerful than that peasant , and he will be never able to reach the heights.'
" You are right master, it is nothing be proud of , the fact that you are most powerful and talented swordsman of your age will never change."
Hearing this Nathan agreed with the David , hearing all this Nathaly was shocked as she found out that both of them didn't know about the real meaning of being choosen by the church.
Nathaly pointed out towards the Max after seeing the father Julius returning again just to talk with Max. Max was still in shock , not understanding what was the church's father was even taking about. All he could decipher was that he will be now trained under the church and will able to become the part of paladins , and if he did well becoming holly knight might also become possible. The last thing he heard was the training will start after one week and the blonde girl will also join them.
Both Nathan and devid were flabbergasted after hearing everything what Julius said to Max.
" Church will take care of everything, starting from the training until I don't become a full fledged mage. The primary training will given by the father Julius after that they will sent me to Engrasia city for further studies."
" Do you think, I will not able to get the enrollment in Engrasia academy, I don't have to worry about resources, whatever I ask father will give it to me." Nathan said proudly as he looked towards his sister.
" Hmm.. but will you able to get the chance enter the elite group after just entering the school. Yes that is right, I will directly get the silver after entering the academy . Normal rules wouldn't apply on me and all the prevelegious I will get from both the academy and the church will be enough that I would not have to ask from father."
"That doesn't change anything, I will catch up with you even before you realise." Nathan was full with confidence as he made his statement.
" I don't think you have understood , what I am talking about. Everything that I will able to get , that boy will get it to." After saying that Nathaly went towards the direction of the father Julius as Alex came and told her that they wanted to give some information.
Nathan eyes started to become hot as red as he watched Max standing beside his sister as father Julius was discussing something with them. The idea of having a peasant will go everywhere with his sister and will also enjoy every resources that he will have to beg from his father. It should have been him and his sister going together towards the journey of becoming powerful but now it felt like their paths were being changed.
" I think young master should show the boy his true place."
" What do you mean ? "
" It's exactly what you understood, why don't you challenge him for a duel against everyone present here. He would not be able to say no to that and today might be the best day before he might get ahead of himself."
