Alex and David were both ready to interfere the moment John appeared in the arena but were stopped by the city guardian. People were also confused after seeing what was going on.
He could feel something unusual from the boy standing against Nathan , he didn't had that aura like a human being instead it felt something more powerful and dominant. He gestured both of them to wait and watch.
Small projectile like bullet headed towards John , he didn't even bothered to dodge it as he deflected it with his bare hands. He looked towards the responsible person and it was non other than Nathaly.
John even knocked down few guards with ease , who had rushed towards him .
A second and third and four , more projectiles went straight towards John , John didn't moved from his place and raised his hand. " Wind slash " a powerful air current formed in a shape of a sickle and shot forward destroying the incoming projectiles and went straight towards the Nathaly.
Devid acted instantly and appeared in front of Nathaly and deployed a magic sheild after using instant movement magic. Alex also appeared just after that and stood just beside Devid.
" Hmm intersting , you are very powerful compared to your age , is this your real age ? Where did you come from ? I don't remember having any memory of a powerful and knowledgeable mage being around here that could teach you."
Devid was first little cautious but after thinking for a minute a his desire for being more powerful was still there. He knew that he was stuck in the third circle and might not ascend to fourth circle in this life time. He might look in his thirties but he was allready at the age of 80, he still had thirty years remaining , only if he dies naturally as an old man.
Seeing a young boy , he wanted have a genius student under him , so he could boast about it and if his student might perform well and become a sixth circle he might also get the chance to get some external help , so he could ascend beyond third circle and if his luck was good becoming fifth circle might not be so far.
He might even get hefty price, if he gives the child any powerful mage who is in search for talented young children in magic.
Even though he knew these all were just his own speculations and thoughts still he wanted give it a try.
" Hey kid , I can take you under my wings. If you accept , I will teach you everything that I know about magic. Becoming a even student of the Engrasia academy might not be difficult , I can introduce you to several influential and powerful people that will definitely help you after seeing your potential."

Alex standing beside Max as he had completed healing him was speachles after hearing Devid talking like that. Even the Father Julius and the city guardian were speachles after hearing Devid.
" You might know him from a long time, was he like this from the start." asked father Julius as he looked at the city guardian , but when he looked at him , he had also expression of not having any clue.
" I know him from my younger days, when we were almost equal in status but his talent was limited and could not supress his own limits. After I became more influential , he came to me so I felt pity on him and introduced him to Mearchant Markram."
After hearing this father Julius didn't asked more as he understood that Devid was someone who is someone, who is ready accept his shortcomings. He uses his own mana continuously so he could still look young and wants to stay like that . In contrast the city guardian who has many years ahead of him to live , he still chooses to look like his age , an old and wise man.
" Are you out of your mind , you old man ?. Why the hell, I will choose someone like you to be my master. You better live your remaining life showing sparkling magic to put smiles on children."
Discerning eyes, something that John inherited from his father. It is a innate ability that almost every dragonoid develops as they grow. John was able to look into Devid , but he couldn't see into both the city guardian and father Julius as they both were superior to him.
Anger engulfed Devid after hearing the remarks of John. " You rug rat, you should have said yes. Now you will get what you deserve."
Devid didn't hold back and fired a fire ball at John. An icy breeze met with the fire ball , enxtiguishing it out of existence.
Seeing it didn't work Devid didn't hold back and continued with more fire balls. But this time John didn't do anything as a magic sheild appeared arround him and both Alex who was standing just little away from him and Max who was still laying unconscious.
A woman in her mid twenties was standing beside John and observed everything arround her to get an idea what was happening.
Everyone stanced up after seeing the powerful auara coming from the woman. But everyones attention changed towards Devid as a painful scream left his mouth. The right hand of Devid was torn from the shoulder and was in a hand of a burly man standing in front of him.
Both Father Julius and the city guardian could not feel his powerful presence until the scream as their focus was entirely on the woman appeared beside the boy.
Devid who was screaming in pain turned behind and looked towards the city guardian and said " Kill them , I want all of them dead."
" Silance"
" But..
" I said you , not to speak a word if you don't want to loose your hand permanently."
The city guardian and father Julius both came forward and made a bowing gestures towards the man and woman.
" We are sorry, if we might have made mistake. I believe that young boy over there might be your son and I am deeply sorry for the aggresive behaviour by my friend."
" If you were that much careful then you might have not let this happen to this young boy. You should have acted sooner." said Selena as she looked towards unconscious max and his father and sister were kneeling beside him.
" It was a duel that he agreed apon , and we respect their divisions."
" You are right on that, so we wouldn't persue on that anymore but I will say it first and last time , if that guy tries to do like that again , I will went straight for the head. " said Cedar as he looked with cold eyes towards Devid.
Devid was kneeling and was holding his torned shoulder with other hand to stop the bleeding got chills running straight to his spine.
Devid wanted to say they must pay some equal compansation for his sufferings, but couldn't say out loud as all four them were not hiding their aura making the atmosphere so heavy that no one else can intervene.
Offcourse both Father Julius and city guardian were not able to overpower the couple in slightest. In the end they had to bow down and appolozige to the couple and even had to give compansation to both Max and John.
Both the city guardian and father Julius were angry but couldn't say anything about it .
Many of the people had left the place after seeing atmosphere becoming more aggressive but few were present until the end.
" You all have witnessed what happened here, this is how power works. A child with unknown powers can make mistakes if they are not properly guided. We have let you saw the small demonstration of that. We have given rewards to the children who participated in this duals."
Someone from the crowd asked that why a new boy had entered the duel and sir Devid was attacked.
Hearing this Alex was in turmoil about what to say, father Julius seeing him confused what to say came forward and explained that it was also an staged act nothing else.
Paul hearing this was furious but he couldn't do anything about it. He knew the church was the only place that will help Max to teach everything about his potential. He wanted to see his son becoming a Holy knight, after all he was also loyal believer of the light goddess.
" You are not injured anywhere my child " said Lily as she looked towards torn clothes of Max.
"Don't worry mom , you know that boy John. He saved him and also beat the blonde boy who injured Max.' said Seinna as both her and Max demonstrated how it happened.
Sienna said everything about how it happens from the Max getting choosen as holly knight and his duel against Nathan, and how John saved Max and what happened afterwards.
Hearing all this Lily was shocked and looked towards her husband, the look she gave he knew that tonight he will get earful of listening.
Lily also scolded Max and Sienna and she had told them not to play with that child. She also told Max to appolozige to Nathan tomorrow and to become a good friends with him and his sister. Because she knew that was right thing to do. The children didn't liked it but in this house their mother made discussions.
Inside the church,
The city guardian had returned to his residence, the only remaining people were Julius , Alex and David.
Devid looked his arm and started to make some movements , it was reattached by Julius using healing magic.
" He is a monster, we can't let him grow more or he wil become one of the biggest enemy of humans.we are the followers of the great light goddess, as her subjects we wouldn't allow something like that exist. This world belongs to humans."
Hearing the words from father Julius , Anger and humiliation surfaced in his mind after remembering the all things happened with him.
" Do you not want to take revenge against that boy ?"
" That is also what I want to do, but I can not go against those monsters."
" You don't have to worry about them, I will somehow take care of that. You just have to lure him to the frozen lake of the west."
Devid was shocked after hearing the name of frozen lake , it was said that no one goes there as no one has returned after going there. Some people say that evil spirit resides there and some believe that a powerful monster lurks there.
" How will we lure him to the frozen lake.?"
" You don't have to worry about that, I know perfect bait. If we use that, he will definitely come even after knowing it's a trape."
A guard entered in the room,
" Father Julius a lady has come to meet you."
" I have told you many times , to not allow anyone to enter after the noon. Tell her to come in morning, that will be time for prayer. " said Alex as he scolded the guard.
" I am sorry sir Alex but I thought it was important. The lady told me her name was Lily."
Alex looked Julius, who had smile on his face. Alex gave a sign to the guard to let in the lady inside the church.
" My child what led you to come here at this time, and why are you looking so tired."
Lily was looking anxious and sweat could be seen on her forehead as she was starring towards the statue of light goddess. After hearing those words she came out of the daze and looked towards Father Julius and bowed down and greeted him.
" Your name is Lily right, your son Max has a great potential. You might not know but becoming ordinary guard in church is also very great way to surve the goddess. And your son has awakened the title protecter of the light, for him becoming holy knight is allready decided but he can go beyond that if he comes under me. Do you understand child, what I am saying."
" Yes , I understand father. I know that today my son might have made mistakes , on his behalf I have to appolozige. He is still child so he doesn't know the greatness of the light goddess. I promise you that my child will follow the light goddess and surve him."
" Hahahahaha don't worry child , it was not fault of your child. He is good boy. He can start to come from tomorrow in church for the training."
Lily showed her gratitude towards the father Julius and light goddess. Alex entered after Lily left, he looked towards Julius who was starring at the statue of light goddess, " I thought that the training program will start in the church of Engrasia next year."
" Yes I know that." He didn't elaborate and still stared towards same direction.
Alex was confused but didn't dare to ask anything.
At the home of Max,
" You are going for the training at the church starting from tomorrow. Father told me the you can even become greater than holy knight. Do you understand what that means."
Max become happy after hearing the word training, after defeat against Nathan, he understood that power alone doesn't pay off.
Seeing the blank faces of both son and father Lily continued, " A holly knight is eqilant to that of a noble man in authority, nobles only have authority in the kingdom they are living in while a holy knight can have wherever the church is present."
" What does that mean, seems like nobles have more power." said Max .
" No you idiot, church are present in almost every country. That means they have greater influence than one single country." said Sienna as she looked with disdain towards Max.
" You are right my daughter, if only your brother was smart enough like you but it's okay next year will be your."
" If you only even get the chance to awaken." said Max as he teased his sister.
" Hay don't say something like that to your sister." Said Paul as he patted small head of Sienna.
