(Night of the Festival—At the Boundary of the Felyndor Wilds)
Elena, Mirael, and I stand at the edge of the Felyndor Wilds, staring into the dense wall of ancient trees before us. Kael stands watch behind me; at Elena's request, he's swapped his usual heavy armor for a more understated look—all black clothing topped with a black leather jacket. The only hint of his profession is the sword strapped to his side.
I glance at Elena, my patience starting to wear thin. "Uhm... Elena, are you sure we just have to wait?"
"Yes, Big Sister!" she says, her eyes fixed on the shadows of the forest.
"But hasn't it been almost an hour already?" I ask, gesturing to the sky as the night begins to settle in.
