Chapter 72 - chapter 72 - Dreams Hung by a Rope 2

The velvet blanket of the moonlit night was spread on the calm water of the Labin River, but a storm of intentions was surging in Albim's chest. He finally had taken the decision to return toward his roots. On the bank of the river, where the waves of the water, after colliding with the stones, were creating a slow music, Albim was strolling with his father-in-law.

There, in that solitude, Albim opened the closed doors of his past. He told that he is no ordinary traveler, but rather the king of a great Kingdom, whom the waves of destiny, after washing away, had brought here. Hearing this, a mixed feeling of surprise and respect floated in the old father-in-law's eyes. His breaths as if paused, when Albim said, "But now the time for my departure has come." Hearing this, the father-in-law's heart trembled with the imagination of this separation, but somewhere or other he always had this realization that this day had to come one day; he knew that Albim was never a part of this small world. But even then he certainly urged Albim to stay, but the resolve of Albim's eyes made him silent.

Albim had already told this truth to his wife Kang-min that who he is and now he is going to leave from here—and perhaps will never return again. Before departure, he, after placing a hand on his son's head, gave him a name— **'Kom-Sulan'**. This name was not merely an identity, but a part of the father's legacy. Kang-min from the outside had made herself calm like a statue of stone, but within her a volcano of emotions was erupting. The very thought of Albim never returning was making her physically decrepit; she was getting dizzy spells and vomitings were happening, but she drank her tears.

And Albim set out on his journey. After a tiring journey of many days, his steps fell in a city named 'Geo-nic'. There, from the narrow lanes and old maps, he found out that the way to his empire passes through the 'Yun Mountain Range'. From people's whispering, he found out that amidst those peaks dwells an 'Angel'. And Albim started his journey again.

While climbing those heights piercing the rocky paths and clouds, suddenly a miracle of nature emerged before Albim. A supernatural beauty was standing before him. All around her was such a halo (Aura) of white energy, as would put even the darkness to shame. The 'Halo' shining on her head was giving her a form like some manifest goddess. But Albim did not get distracted; instead, he bowed and greeted her with full dignity. And told her his name.

That divine woman said in her calm voice, "My name is Yun-kun."

Albim, looking into her eyes, asked politely, "O Goddess, please tell me how I can help you?"

A mysterious smile came on Yun's lips. And she said, "You have given me directly the status of God, Traveller! But why did it feel to you that an angel would have need of your assistance?"

Albim took a deep breath and said in a voice full of wisdom, "God or Angels are infinitely powerful, they possess the capability to choose their own destiny. However, often along with this power, they also have to carry the burden of those responsibilities and distasteful duties from which they can never retreat. There are many such voids in the universe which only a mortal can fill, and perhaps some such obstacle will be in your way too."

These words of Albim touched the divine heart of Angel Yun. Respect for Albim became even deeper in her eyes; she had understood that the person standing before her is not only a king, but the master of a high consciousness.

Standing amidst the winds of the mountains, that supernatural sight was like some trembling dream. In the eyes of Angel Yun was that spark which would defeat even the stars. She looked toward Albim with a faint smile and said in a sweet voice, "Traveller, perhaps you are right... but I do not want help of any kind right now."

Albim narrowed his eyebrows. The sudden coming of a divine existence before him could not be without any reason. He asked with a humble feeling, "O Goddess! Then why did you come here before me?"

Angel Yun's white energy suddenly became even more dense, as if she wanted to take Albim into her embrace. She replied in a deep and mysterious voice, "I do not want any help here, rather I want you, Traveller!"

As soon as he heard this, the ground slipped from under Albim's feet. Drops of sweat began to shine on his forehead. He immediately bowed his head and, showing himself as insignificant before that divine power, said, "Forgive me Goddess, but I am not so capable that I may understand the depth of your talks. I am merely a mortal human made of dust and soil, who is not worthy of this high post being given by you."

Albim took a long breath and said further, "I am just the king of a small kingdom, whose capacity is only this much that he can pray at your feet. We humans are much smaller than your expectations." Saying this much, Albim sat on his knees in a feeling of surrender.

But a strange smile emerged on Angel Yun's face. She, while extending a hand toward Albim, said, "Forgive me Albim, but your talks define the moral grounds made by the human race. But Goddesses and Angels are very much above these small things; we ourselves are the masters of these rules."

Her voice now began to resonate in the mountains, "Human emotions like greed and freedom do not matter for us. But I have now fallen in love with you, therefore I want that you now stay with me only. Forever."

Albim's mind became numb. On one side was his empire waiting for him, his wife Deepa and his newly born heir, and on the other side the stubbornness of a goddess. He closed his eyes, remembered his duties, and with a heavy heart but with firmness, Albim clearly refused Angel Yun.

This refusal was a deep blow to that divine beauty's ego. In a moment, that angel's face flushed with anger. Her white energy now began to crackle like lightning. Coming into anger, Angel Yun caused a terrifying landslide with her power.

The massive rocks of the mountain began to fall while thundering. A storm of dust and debris rose and Albim came into its grip. When the dust cleared, Albim was helpless; one of his legs had become badly trapped under a Giant Rock.

Angel Yun came near him, in her eyes now was not love but a manic stubbornness. She said in a harsh voice, "Now until you become ready to stay here with me, until then I will not release you from here."

Albim now had become trapped in the captivity of that goddess amidst those desolate hills, from where every path to escape went toward death. His journey, his responsibility and his being a king, all had remained buried under that heavy stone.
