At the time of 'The Relic', there was a region situated in the Western land which was also called Ovies Land, and in it some Kingdoms used to exist, and among them one was the Ryzen Kingdom where—
Everything was like some golden dream. And the king there was Albim. The Kingdom did not have sea borders, but what was there were gold mines buried under the ground and deep relationships with neighboring states. By creating a marriage with Princess Deepa of the Dalkan Kingdom, he not only found a wife but also found that way to do trade through the sea which until now was closed. Ryzen's Trade now began to happen from corners to corners of the world.
But destiny had something else approved.
The fire of war scorched that blanket of peace. Swords were drawn between the Sulaslo Kingdom and the Nettic Kingdom. In the beginning, this was a fight of two equals, but the Nettic Kingdom showed cunning. It called its powerful Partner Kingdom and in the blink of an eye, this war began to become one-sided. Sulaslo's walls began to crack and they were left with no choice other than to accept defeat.
In such a time, Sulaslo knocked on Albim's door. Those favors of the past, which Sulaslo had once done for Ryzen, now stood as a debt before Albim. King Albim, for the protection of his subjects and to keep the honor of old relationships, decided to jump into this mega-destructive war.
And then when King Albim was giving the order for his army to march, then in one corner of his palace, the new cry of life was about to echo. His wife Deepa was on the verge of giving birth to her first child. On one side was the joy of becoming a father and on the other side the debt of loyalty toward the Sulaslo Kingdom. But Albim did not stop.
He set out to attack the Allusun Dynasty taking a brave army of 4000. This was no small distance. A long and tiring journey of two months, dusty paths, but Albim finally entered after crossing the enemy's border.
But Albim had only just raised the sword when the news came—the Sulaslo Kingdom has knelt down. The Nettic Kingdom had crushed them badly and had captured their estates. That war which Albim had left home and hearth to win, that war was over. But it became very late for this information to reach Albim.
By the time he received the news, they had clashed with the army of the Allusun Dynasty on the banks of the Labin River. On one side was the noise of the flowing waves and on the other side the game of death. A fierce fight occurred on the bank of the Labin River. In the air, there was only the sound of clashing iron and the screams of soldiers.
Albim's small army scattered like a deck of cards before that massive military power. Defeat was certain. And in the end, while fighting and becoming blood-soaked, Albim fell into the waves of the river. That icy water and the fast flow of the river took him away with itself.
But that flow of the Labin River had risen not to swallow Albim, but to save him. Destiny played its game and the waves, after washing that blood-soaked body away, brought it to a very far deserted shore. Albim remained lying unconscious right there and—
Passing by that same path, the sight of an old woodcutter fell upon that half-dead human lying on the sand. That was Albim. That kind woodcutter, giving support to Albim, took him to his house. And then there, amidst those walls, the woodcutter's daughter began to water Albim's wounds with her herbs and service.
After some days of deep silence when Albim's eyes opened, then the world had changed. Neither were those velvet beds there, nor rows of male and female servants. Albim regained consciousness indeed, but he was not able to understand anything. He was in such an unknown province where he neither understood the language of the people nor their manner of living. For a king, who had breathed amidst big palaces and facilities for his whole life, the roof of that cramped hut was making him feel suffocated.
In that small house three lives used to dwell—that old woodcutter who saved Albim's life, his old wife, and their daughter Kang-min.
Slowly time began to pass. Albim learned to live with those strangers and to read their silence. During this, a news reached his ears. He found out that they are on the border of a small village of the 'Khushnam Kingdom' and the Allusun Dynasty has taken a big decision.
Allusun felt that King Albim, after running away from the battlefield, has Returned safely. Therefore Allusun did not want that he again, after gathering his army, should attack them. That is why, for the sake of peace, they released 2800 captive soldiers and sent them back toward the Ryzen Kingdom.
Now Albim's army was returning back,
Therefore Albim also decided that he will be fully recovered and then go back to his Kingdom. His initial plan was that he will take leave from here in 4 to 6 months. But during the recovery, he did not only rest, but also shared the hand of that old woodcutter.
Albim was a king and a warrior; his body and strength were much more than ordinary humans. He used to do as much work of cutting wood in one day, to do which it used to take four days for that woodcutter. The result was this: that the income of that poor family increased 4 times. Now in that house good food, better clothes, and expensive medicines for Albim's wounds began to come. By Albim's arrival, their Financial Condition had completely changed.
And time slipped from the hands like sand. But Albim liked the simplicity of that village and the love of the people so much that he as if forgot all his responsibilities. 6 months passed, but he did not return back. He married Kang-min and began to live with them like an ordinary human under the same roof. In the blink of an eye 3 years passed and in that small house, happiness took birth in the form of a son.
But destiny had something else approved.
One day, some news come from across the border of the village or perhaps the talks of some traveler woke up the sleeping king within Albim. He found out that his Kingdom even now is looking for the way of its king. The subjects even today are sitting in that hope that their king will return.
This talk entered like a dagger into Albim's chest. He realized his responsibilities, which he was ignoring for the last three years. Behind the love of a father and husband, that 'King' hidden suddenly stood up. He realized that he is not a minor woodcutter, but rather the king of an empire.
That same night, in the dim light of a candle, Albim took a harsh decision—he will go back to his Kingdom, will live again like a king, and will handle his responsibilities which were left incomplete.
