Chapter 19 - Chapter 18: The Father-Son Debate

The evening air in Bangalore had a cool bite, unusual for a city known for its humidity. Rudra sat on the balcony of his 2BHK apartment, a quiet oasis in the bustling streets of Koramangala. His father, Prem Nath, was inside, pacing across the living room, speaking with a legal client on the phone. His conversation was formal, the crisp tone of authority in his voice betraying his position as an experienced lawyer.

Rudra leaned forward, gazing out at the city that was about to change. He could already picture it in his mind: The skyline evolving, the tech boom, and, of course, the massive property deals waiting to be seized.

[Stat Focus: Charisma, Legal Understanding]

Rudra's eyes flicked to the screen of his tablet. His Charisma and Legal Understanding were still low-level, especially compared to his cricketing stats. But those stats were tools, not just trophies. He'd need them to navigate the coming years.

"Dad's not going to like this," Rudra muttered to himself, but he had to try. He had to convince his father.

...

When Prem Nath finished his call, he stepped out onto the balcony, noticing Rudra's pensive expression. There was a long moment of silence, the kind that always preceded a serious conversation.

"Rudra, you seem deep in thought," Prem Nath began, his voice calm but inquisitive. "What's going on?"

Rudra sat up straight, locking eyes with his father. "I have an idea," he said, letting the words hang in the air for a moment before continuing, "I want to invest in land. In Whitefield."

Prem Nath raised an eyebrow, surprised but not entirely dismissive. "Whitefield? That area is still developing. The property's not even in the prime spots. It's risky."

Rudra didn't flinch. "That's exactly why we should act now," he said, his tone firm. "In five years, this will be prime real estate. We're talking about a massive return on investment."

His father leaned against the railing, looking out at the city. "You're 12 years old, Rudra. Why are you even thinking about real estate?"

"Because," Rudra said, standing up to face him, "I've seen the future. Not in a dream, but in how things are going to unfold. Bangalore is going to explode with development, especially in areas like Whitefield. I've been doing my research, and the trend is obvious."

Prem Nath exhaled, rubbing his temple. "I understand you're ambitious, son, but real estate is serious business. It's not a game of T20 where you can swing hard and hope for the best."

Rudra smiled, the [Charisma] stat subtly influencing his confidence. "I'm not playing a game, Dad. This is a long-term investment. I've studied it. You always talk about making the right moves. This is one of them."

There was a moment of silence. His father's gaze softened, but the concern in his eyes remained. "You're 12, Rudra. You still need to focus on your studies and cricket. This talk of business—can it wait?"

Rudra took a step closer, keeping his voice steady but persuasive. "I know what it's like to feel uncertain. But this is my future too. Cricket's important, but so is thinking ahead. I promise you, if you just trust me on this, we'll make it work."

Prem Nath took a deep breath, considering his son's words. He could see the intensity in Rudra's eyes. "You really think this will pay off?"

Rudra nodded. "Yes, I do. This is the first step to building something much bigger."

After a long pause, Prem Nath finally spoke, though his voice still held caution. "Alright, Rudra. But remember this—business isn't just about the money. It's about making the right decisions, at the right time. You might be right about Whitefield, but it's a risk. If it fails, we'll have to bear the consequences together."

Rudra smiled, the weight of his father's approval pushing him forward. "Understood, Dad. But trust me. This will work."

...

As Rudra's father nodded in reluctant agreement, Rudra's mind raced ahead, picturing the return on investment, the growth of Bangalore, and how this decision would affect everything. He wasn't just talking about cricket anymore. This was the beginning of a bigger plan—a plan to build not just his career, but an empire.

"The Foundation is set," Rudra thought. "The path ahead is clear. Now, we move forward, one step at a time."

As his father gave him a nod of approval, Rudra couldn't help but feel the weight of the moment. This was the first victory. But it wouldn't be the last.

...

The night stretched on as father and son sat together on the balcony, a quiet bond forming between them—one of trust, ambition, and the unspoken understanding that Rudra was not just a child. He was something more.

And this was only the beginning.
