"Gyarados are you alright," Raj asked anxiously.
Gyarados roared and shook its head to show it was fine.
"Good then get ready to continue the battle," Raj said as he adjusted his cap confidently which caused several girls in the audience to cheer loudly.
The intense battle had already ignited the entire arena.
Some people supported Raj.
Others supported Qing Shui.
"Charizard use Aerial Ace again," Qing Shui commanded.
"Gyarados use Hydro Pump," Raj responded immediately.
"It is useless your speed cannot match Charizard's," Qing Shui said confidently.
"Is that so Gyarados use Dragon Dance while spinning," Raj suddenly ordered.
"What," Qing Shui reacted in surprise.
Gyarados rose into the air and began spinning its massive body while continuing to release Hydro Pump creating a rotating wall of water around itself.
Charizard's speed was immediately affected by the spinning water barrier.
"Charizard do not hesitate defeat it with your speed," Qing Shui shouted firmly.
"Not yet wait a little longer now Gyarados use Aqua Tail," Raj commanded at the perfect moment.
Just as Charizard approached Gyarados at close range the Aqua Tail struck directly.
Charizard was hit hard in the neck and sent flying backward with visible injuries across its body.
"How is this possible you actually landed that attack," Qing Shui said in disbelief.
"My Gyarados used Dragon Dance several times which increased both its speed and attack power so naturally it could hit Charizard," Raj explained calmly.
"Charizard use Brave Bird with full power," Qing Shui shouted.
"Gyarados use spinning Aqua Tail with full power," Raj replied immediately.
The two Pokémon collided head-on with tremendous force.
Both were blasted backward at the same time.
"Gyarados."
"Charizard."
Raj and Qing Shui called out at the same time.
"Both Pokémon have lost the ability to battle this round is a draw please send out your final Pokémon," Apollo announced with clear satisfaction at the evenly matched fight.
Raj rubbed his chin slightly.
It seemed Gyarados still needed further training if it could only reach a draw against Charizard.
If he had known that Charizard was personally trained by a high-ranking Team Rocket member he might not have judged Gyarados so strictly.
Qing Shui also felt unwilling to accept the result.
"This Charizard trained personally by Uncle still could not defeat his Gyarados," she thought silently.
"You go Haunter," Raj said as he looked at the floating Haunter beside him. "After watching so many battles you must be eager to fight."
Haunter waved its claws excitedly.
"I choose Poliwrath," Qing Shui said as she threw her Poké Ball.
Poliwrath appeared immediately with its muscular body radiating fighting spirit.
"Poliwrath Water and Fighting type Pokémon evolved from Poliwhirl known for its powerful muscles and excellent swimming ability Combat Power 1300 Known moves Seismic Toss Bubble Beam Hypnosis Double Slap Dynamic Punch Mind Reader Ice Beam Bulk Up Submission," Raj confirmed calmly.
"Are you giving up already Fighting-type moves cannot affect Ghost-type Pokémon," Raj said with a teasing smile.
"Is that so then watch carefully," Qing Shui replied confidently.
"Poliwrath use Mind Reader then Karate Chop," Qing Shui ordered.
Poliwrath's eyes changed color and it rushed forward instantly.
Haunter was struck directly and sent flying backward.
"How is that possible," many spectators shouted in shock.
"Haunter are you alright," Raj asked.
Haunter shook its head to show it was still fine.
"Mind Reader ensures that the next attack will hit no matter what type your Pokémon is so prepare yourself," Qing Shui explained with a confident smile.
"You are impressive," Raj admitted calmly.
"Poliwrath use Bubble Beam," Qing Shui commanded.
"Haunter use Energy Ball," Raj responded.
Haunter's Energy Ball was much larger than usual and broke through the Bubble Beam before flying toward Poliwrath.
"Poliwrath dodge quickly then use Submission," Qing Shui ordered urgently.
Poliwrath barely avoided the attack but still injured itself from the recoil of Submission.
"To avoid Energy Ball you even chose a move that damages yourself," Raj said as he observed Poliwrath's condition.
"That is still better than being hit directly," Qing Shui replied firmly.
"Poliwrath use Mind Reader then Seismic Toss," Qing Shui commanded again.
"Haunter do not give it the chance use Double Team," Raj responded.
"That trick again Poliwrath use Bubble Beam with full power," Qing Shui shouted.
Colorful bubbles quickly filled the battlefield and blocked visibility.
"Trying to block my vision," Raj said calmly.
"Haunter move through the bubbles use Shadow Claw," Raj ordered.
Multiple Haunter illusions rushed forward at high speed into the Bubble Beam explosions.
Everyone watching thought the same thing.
Is he being reckless.
The exploding bubbles looked harmless but their number was overwhelming and any Pokémon hit repeatedly would take serious damage.
Raj remained calm.
Only the illusionary Haunter clones were destroyed.
The real Haunter had already wrapped itself in layers of vines which protected it from the Bubble Beam explosions as it rushed forward.
In the next instant Haunter appeared directly in front of Poliwrath with its Shadow Claws raised.
"Poliwrath block it then follow with Seismic Toss," Qing Shui shouted.
"Do you think I would allow that Haunter use Hypnosis," Raj said calmly.
The Haunter in front suddenly vanished.
The real Haunter appeared behind Poliwrath and used Hypnosis successfully.
"Alright this match is over Haunter use Psychic," Raj said as he clapped once.
Haunter's eyes glowed blue.
Poliwrath was slammed violently into the ground creating a large crater and immediately lost its ability to battle.
"I lost," Qing Shui said quietly as she collapsed to the ground exhausted and unwilling to accept the result.
