For some long minutes, Rai lay there, his chest heaving, his pale skin deeply flushed from the sudden, jarring halt Zade had forced upon him.
Yes, he was mad. But, no, he wasn't going to accept defeat here.
The abrupt absence of touch now felt like a physical ache between his thighs.
Rai looked up through his damp lashes, his dark eyes snapping with a sudden, vicious focus.
If Zade wanted to weaponize the bet, if Zade wanted to use this to break him, okay, Rai was in to fighting back.
With a shaky, trembling breath, Rai propped himself up on his elbows. His muscles were vibrating with the residual aftershocks of the tension Zade had built up, but he forced his posture to lock.
A slow, bitter smile tugged at the corner of his lips, mocking the triumphant smirk still wearing on Zade's face.
"You think... you can control me?" Rai breathed out, his voice rough and uneven, but laced with an edge.
