Fearing that Yilan might remain uncooperative and cause further trouble for Rory—subsequently ruining her own plans—Bree quietly placated her.
"Go pick out another item, and I'll buy it for you, okay?" she coaxed softly.
Hearing this, Yilan's anger vanished in an instant. "You really are the generous one, Bree. I'll go pick something out then."
Yilan dragged her remaining mates along to choose something she liked.
Calling her a fool in her mind, Bree then walked over to Rory, an apologetic smile on her face.
"I'm so sorry about what just happened; it must have been awkward for you," Bree said to Rory. "I really didn't expect Yilan's mate to be so incredibly envious. Fortunately, Yilan is reasonable and knows her mate was in the wrong."
"Rory, you absolutely must not punish your mates over this. They only did it for your sake."
Rory had zero intention of punishing Jasper and Wen to begin with. "I'm not angry, and I won't be punishing my mates, so don't worry."
