The lawn was relatively quiet as Kevin was the only one who had been talking. The breeze blew past, ruffling through the leaves and flowers. The stream gurgled softly, carried by the wind.
Ashrik had been listening without interrupting, and so had the others. Beneath his sharp gaze was a calm expression. His eyes narrowed when Kevin brought up the ambush.
He spoke for the first time. He asked plainly, though his gaze flickered with certainty. "Not by zombies, yes? It was Genesis."
Kevin exhaled and then pressed his lips into a thin line. "A group of espers. Skilled ones. We didn't even have time to react. Our group had a few low-level espers. They... they subdued us in minutes."
Isaac shook his head, holding himself back from saying anything. Felix let out a quiet curse under his breath.
