Chapter 26: Trapped in the Darkness
Selena smiled faintly. She did not want to kill Scarlett. Death was too easy an escape. She wanted to destroy the girl mentally, make her crawl back into the hole she came from, and ensure that every time Scarlett looked at Julian, all she felt was the trauma of the distance that separated them.
The shoot ended as dusk faded into a heavy gray. Scarlett was packing her things when her phone vibrated. A message came in from an unknown number: "Manda was left behind in Warehouse B, she fell and twisted her ankle. Come quickly before the crew leaves."
Scarlett's heart dropped. She did not think twice. Without telling the rest of the crew who were busy packing up equipment, she ran toward the dark corridor between two massive warehouses. Her footsteps echoed against the cracked asphalt.
"Manda?" Scarlett called out, her voice bouncing off the damp brick walls.
