Chapter 202 - Chapter 202: Sholazar Basin

Although the reason sounded far-fetched, every king had to treat it with caution. Arthas's deeds had already spread throughout the Alliance, and his ability to resurrect warriors with the Holy Light was nothing short of a miracle. Even the most prestigious Archbishop of the Holy Light, Alonsus, was full of praise for Arthas, lauding the young prince for being blessed by the Light. Not only was he deeply admired by his soldiers, but even the dragons had sided with him, personally intervening to annihilate a large number of orcs in the defense of Lordaeron. It was impossible not to pay attention to such a figure.

Faced with such a powerful prince who intended to travel to another continent to deal with a so-called 'threat,' no one wanted to stand in his way. For them, keeping Arthas in the Eastern Kingdoms, who knew what might happen. If any friction arose with Lordaeron, it wasn't impossible that their own kingdoms could be annexed. When those below you have no objections, the king is but a figurehead.

To prevent such a situation, the Wolf King of Gilneas was the first to agree and express his support for Arthas's sea-crossing plan. As long as they sent him away, any condition was negotiable. It would be best if he left after finishing off the Horde.

"Arthas's suggestion is that we gradually compress the orcs' living space, delaying their movements as much as possible to prepare for his return to conscript them. If we can conscript these orcs, it would be highly beneficial for eliminating the invasion threat and dealing with other crises. At that time, we would no longer need to continue drawing troops from various nations, allowing each kingdom to rest and recuperate." Sir Lothar put down the letter, his face somewhat puzzled. He believed there were other crises to be resolved, but could the orcs really be trusted?

"If we continue to force the Horde back to the Dark Portal, will we still need to station troops near it?" Admiral Daelin was thinking more about the subsequent arrangements; the future investment also needed to be considered.

"Yes, stationing troops is a must. Unless we can find a way to permanently close the Dark Portal. I've asked Archmage Antonidas, and such a thing is extremely difficult, beyond the capabilities of Dalaran. If we can follow Prince Arthas's method, annihilate the main force of the orcs, and completely cut off their strength, we can solve the orc threat once and for all." Lothar looked at the map, his brow deeply furrowed. As a commander, he had to consider all aspects, especially since the Alliance army was composed of troops from various kingdoms, which required even more careful attention.

"And how can Arthas guarantee that he can control these savage orcs? A small number might be manageable, but with such a massive orc army, if a riot were to occur, the consequences would be unimaginable!" King Genn of Gilneas once again raised a sharp question. Let Arthas grow more powerful?

"Arthas said he has a way. There's a lot involved, and he didn't tell me everything. And even if there were a riot, the orcs would be on another continent, so they wouldn't pose much of a threat to us." Lothar was quite in favor of this approach. At the very least, they would be separated by a great distance, with other powers in between. There would be others to take the hit, so what was there to fear?

The discussion in the Alliance High Command continued. The only advantage of an alliance formed by multiple kingdoms was that it saved money. The downside was that its command and coordination were terrible, not much better than the Horde's.

Northrend, Ulduar. This city, jointly built by the Titan Keepers, was still magnificent and grand. Only the Keepers knew that this place was actually a prison, a prison for Yogg-Saron. The city was built to stand guard and watch over him.

"Freya sent an avatar to Sholazar Basin?" A man with a metallic texture and a medieval-style beard sat on a throne crackling with lightning, contemplating the latest intelligence. This was Loken, Loken the Prime Designate, one of the nine Keepers. A traitor corrupted by the whispers of an Old God, he was the one who had instigated the civil war among the Keepers. Loken feared nothing, except for the Titans' return. If they ever found out what had happened during this time, it would be his death sentence!

"So some rats have invaded the laboratory! Heh, there are always clueless rats." After investigating the cause, Loken sneered and put the matter out of his mind. This sort of thing had happened before. It had been happening for tens of thousands of years. He used to be nervous every time, but later discovered it was just normal behavior. Occasionally, an outside species would curiously invade, only to be torn to shreds by the local creatures. The species in the Titan laboratories didn't play by the rules; they were all wild and bloodthirsty.

Arthas first activated the waygate. Using his control over Titan facilities, he made his way to the control console on the cliff face. With Onyxia carrying him in flight, they crossed a basin so vast it stretched beyond the horizon, far larger than in the game. Without flight, just traversing this mixed region of rainforest and icy landscapes would have taken him half a year, not to mention the creatures below.

Soaring through the sky, he could clearly see a large number of primeval creatures below. There were thorn-men with flowers for heads and bodies made of branches. There were hydras, similar to plesiosaurs but with nine heads. There were sharks, massive enough to swallow an ox, yet living in hot springs.

Looking at these unique species, Arthas marveled inwardly. This was much more spectacular than in the game. Apart from humans, almost none of the species he had seen before had ever appeared here. The creatures here had their own ecosystem, having evolved entirely under a mix of natural propagation and artificial interference.

"It's quite dangerous down there," Onyxia's voice was as light and unique as ever.

"It poses a considerable danger to me. That waygate leads to Un'Goro Crater in Kalimdor. Both places are Titan laboratories," Arthas explained. The waygate needed to be activated, and only a specific method could be used for teleportation. This unique method of transport was extremely stable and effective. If used to transport a large army, it would be incredibly convenient, far more reliable and stable than current portals. There was no need to worry about accidents; the quality of Titan-made products could be trusted, as they were built by the Titans themselves.

"Mmm, that's good. One more way to teleport. Wait, be careful. I have a bad feeling. It seems someone is coming. That's the aura of a Keeper." Onyxia smiled. In her dragon form, with her husband riding on her neck, she felt no shame, but rather a faint warmth and happiness.
