Chapter 74 - Chapter: 72

Hey guys, here is the new chapter hope you will liked and read thru everything.

This chapter is fire! I've been waiting a long time to write and publish this fight.

Honestly, I didn't expect this fanfic to get this far, especially since my first one wasn't very well-received. I've learned a lot from this experience, and the next one I create will be even better.

One question: how did you guys find this fanfic? I tried looking for it from another account and it doesn't show up unless I search for it by name. I'm not sure if I'm on some kind of blacklist

The battlefield of Kanzaki, which only moments ago was a deafening roar of weapons, screams, and elemental explosions, seemed to hang suspended in a bubble of unreality.

The center of all attention, from the lowest-ranking ninja to the Hokage himself, was the Crystal Labyrinth.

The colossal structure shimmered with purple and pink hues under the morning sun a monumental jewel that held within it a struggle that would decide the course of the war.

To understand what was happening inside, one must grasp the technical nature of the Shōton: Crystal Labyrinth.

It is not merely a prison of hardened crystal; it is a biological and energetic extension of its creator. Daigo did not just raise walls; he crystallized the very air, the humidity, and the ground. By combining this with his Seismic Sense, the labyrinth became a part of his own body.

Every vibration, every heartbeat, and every breath of Minato Namikaze was transmitted through the crystalline network directly to Daigo's feet. He did not need to see with his eyes; the labyrinth "told" him where the Yellow Flash was with millimetric precision.

However, the cost of such a powerful technique was devastating. Maintaining a structure of this magnitude required Daigo to remain in a state of absolute concentration. Moving a single wall meant diverting a massive amount of chakra a drain that burned through his reserves like dry wood in a winter night's bonfire.

It was a double-edged sword: absolute power over the environment in exchange for an exhaustion that could be fatal if the enemy managed to resist long enough.

Inside the labyrinth, Minato Namikaze the man who could cross nations in a heartbeat felt for the first time like an insect trapped in resin.

His blue eyes scanned the crystalline walls, meeting thousands of reflections of himself and, most unsettlingly, thousands of reflections of Daigo watching him from every possible angle.

His thoughts were cut short when the crystal roared to life around him. Without the Daigo in front of him moving a single finger, dozens of crystal spears erupted from the side walls with the speed of projectiles.

Minato reacted with the divine reflexes that had earned him his fame, twisting his body in mid-air while throwing a wind-chakra-infused kunai toward the junction of a spear and the wall.

Although the kunai hit its mark, it wasn't enough to break the others coming for his back. He could only focus on dodging while slowly breaking more and more of the structures, knowing he had to escape this place as quickly as possible.

"I can't stay still for a single second," Minato thought, cold sweat running down his temple. "This jutsu is the most dangerous thing I've ever faced. It strips away all my escape routes and he controls it as if it were a limb. What potential this kid has."

Minato attempted a saturation tactic. He threw four kunai with Hiraishin seals in opposite directions to create a teleportation web. But the crystal wall shifted slightly, altering the angle of refraction.

The kunai that should have struck Daigo who stood still with eyes closed and hands joined, instead hit the walls that moved to cover him.

Minato had to use the Hiraishin to swap with a seal he had left meters behind, only to discover that the spot was now bristling with crystal spikes that hadn't been there a second ago. They would have torn him to shreds.

Spears, shuriken, and crystal senbon began to rain down on him without rest. Even for a ninja like Minato, it was too much. He was cut several times on his arms and legs; though he dodged, he was still reached.

"Rasengan!" Minato roared, striking a wall that was closing in on him like a hydraulic press.

The explosion of chakra shattered the crystal, creating a momentary gap and releasing a rain of brilliant shards.

However, to his horror, he saw the crystal begin to repair itself little by little with Daigo's chakra, returning to its perfect state.

"It's useless to try and escape by breaking walls at random," Minato reasoned, wiping blood from his cheek with the back of his hand.

"I have to go for him. Exhaustion has to be his only weakness, but I can't wait for him to run out of chakra while I bleed out and the others remain in danger."

Launching into a suicidal dash, Minato began destroying wall after wall with Rasengans, pushing toward where he believed the real Daigo was. When he reached the first image, he destroyed the wall, but there was no one there.

Minato cursed as he moved toward another image of Daigo to see if it was the real one, but to his frustration, it was another fake.

"What a nightmare of a jutsu."

Continuing his hunt for Daigo and burning his chakra on Rasengans, he kept breaking through, receiving more cuts on his shoulders and back.

He ignored the pain that was beginning to numb his muscles. Finally, after smashing through an especially thick wall, he saw Daigo sitting on the ground, both feet touching the floor, eyes closed, and hands joined in a concentration seal.

"Got you!" Minato thought, appearing instantaneously above him with a maximum-power Rasengan.

"This ends now, Daigo!"

The impact was direct. Daigo's body exploded under the pressure of the spinning chakra, but there was no blood, no screams. Only the sound of a thousand crystals shattering.

"A clone?!" Minato's eyes widened in realization, too late to understand his own stupidity for thinking it would be that easy to finish Daigo.

In that instant of vulnerability, the floor beneath Minato opened as if there were a door to a hidden room underground. The real Daigo emerged from the crystal like a ghost from the earth, a crystal blade growing from his forearm. Its pink edge flashed against the sun's rays and Minato's blue eyes.

Daigo spun with lethal grace and launched an upward slash that crossed Minato's entire back, from hip to the opposite shoulder.

"AAAGH!" Minato's scream echoed through the entire labyrinth a sound of pure agony never before heard from the Yellow Flash of Konoha.

But the cut wasn't the worst part. Upon contact with Minato's warm blood, the Shōton chakra reacted. The edges of the wound began to harden immediately. Tiny crystal needles began to grow inside the living flesh, crystallizing muscle tissue and blood vessels.

It was an unbearable pain; every time Minato attempted even a minor movement, he felt as if thousands of shards of broken glass were moving inside his back, tearing him apart from the inside.

Minato fell to his knees, coughing up a mouthful of blood that splattered the translucent floor. The wound on his back glowed with a sickly pink hue a mark of crystallization that was slowly advancing.

Daigo stood up slowly, his movements light despite the strain. His chest heaved violently; his face was pale, and sweat ran down his neck, soaking his clothes.

Maintaining the labyrinth and performing that last-second substitution had been sucking away all the chakra possible, though he was grateful for his high chakra reserves.

Observing Minato defeated at his feet it reminded of how Mangetsu had used the same tactics against him

Daigo felt a surge of intense heat in his right eye, the one he had lost in the past. The memory of his desperate fight against Mangetsu Hōzuki flashed through his mind like a bolt of adrenaline.

Back then, he fought for adrenaline and to feel strong. Now, he fought for the future of his nation.

"Mangetsu... this is the level of the greats you spoke of," Daigo thought, letting the heat pass and focusing again on the blonde man still trying to rise.

"You're incredible, Minato," Daigo said, his voice loud and dry.

"No one should have survived this long inside here. It took effort, pain, and a will few possess to reach me. Even when this jutsu was your counter, you've shown why the world fears you."

Daigo walked two steps forward, the blade on his arm dripping the blood of the future Fourth Hokage onto the crystal floor.

"To be honest, I didn't want to kill you today. The ninja world will become a very boring place without a rival like you to keep me from getting weak. But I am not just a warrior, Minato. I am the next Kazekage of the Sand. And my duty is to eliminate any threat that could put Suna under the shadow of the Leaf once more. You understand, don't you? It is the logic of our existence."

Minato, trembling violently, used his kunai as an improvised crutch to stand. The crystal embedded in his back creaked as it stretched his skin, making him gasp with a harrowing sound.

"I'm... I'm not done yet..." Minato whispered, a thread of blood running down his chin and staining his neck.

Daigo did not wait, having already said the words he wanted to say. He lunged forward with his blade raised for the finishing blow. Minato, in a final burst of pure adrenaline, blocked the blade with his kunai in an explosion of sparks. With a battle cry, Minato planted a kick with all his strength into Daigo's chest, using the momentum to push him back several meters.

Minato knew he was seconds away from losing consciousness. His senses were fading, and his vision was blurring from blood loss.

With the last residue of his chakra, he concentrated everything he had into his right palm. It was no normal Rasengan; it was a sphere of energy so unstable and dense it began to emit a high-pitched screech a swirling storm that began to crack the surrounding crystal through atmospheric pressure alone.

"TAKE EVERYTHING I HAVE LEFT!"

Minato roared, slamming the massive Rasengan against the base of the central dome, the anchor point for the entire labyrinth.

The explosion was cataclysmic. The sound of thousands of crystals shattering at once was so powerful that all combat outside Kanzaki came to a dead stop.

Ninjas from both Konoha and Suna covered their ears as a shockwave of pure chakra and crystal shards flew in all directions like glittering shrapnel.

When the dust and fragments settled, the dome was half-destroyed, revealing the horror within to the outside world.

Kushina Uzumaki, who was being held back with great difficulty by Rasa's gold waves, turned her head, and her eyes dilated with pure panic.

She saw Minato being struck by a kick from Daigo, sent tumbling to the ground in front of the giant crystal dome.

Minato's body lay limp and unmoving in a pool of blood, his back deformed by crystallization, his eyes closed and if those bright blue eyes could be seen, they were slowly fading out.

At that scene, something inside Kushina broke forever. It was not a physical seal, but the final barrier of her emotional sanity. The deep love she felt for Minato transformed instantly into a toxic, ancient, red fury.

"MIIINAAATOOOO!" Kushina's scream was not human; it was the roar of a calamity.

A dense, dark, bubbling chakra began to erupt from her pores, scorching the sand around her.

Her eyes turned into vertical blood-red slits, and her nails grew into black claws. The Adamantine Chains surrounding her turned a dark, pulsing red, vibrating with a murderous intent so heavy that even Rasa and Arata backed away out of pure survival instinct.

Kushina launched herself like a crimson meteor toward the ruined dome. Daigo, who had just appeared beside Minato's limp body to ensure the job was done, felt a chill of death run down his spine. His Seismic Sense didn't just warn him; it screamed: DEATH!

In the final microsecond, Daigo performed a desperate substitution seal.

SHLACK!

Kushina's chains tore through what appeared to be Daigo's chest with the force of a lightning bolt, but the body instantly shattered into crystal fragments. The real Daigo appeared ten meters away, eyes wide at the attack and the speed Kushina had moved with to kill him.

He watched as Kushina wrapped Minato's body in her chains, protecting him while she glared with a look that promised the end of the world.

Daigo, watching this, only smiled as he pulled off his eyepatch, showing the world for the first time what lay beneath since he lost his eye. To everyone's shock, where his eye should have been, there was now a pink crystal that seemed to glow brighter than normal.

Daigo felt his blood boil again. Ignoring the crystal labyrinth as it began to crumble behind him, he felt a surge of energy. To those watching, the sight of Daigo with his long hair flowing in the wind was perfect and not just that the crystal labyrinth breaking behind make it even better as if everything had been prepared for this very moment.

To Daigo, however, none of that mattered. His gaze was fixed entirely on the Jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails. Seeing her release her power only made his smile grow more savage and manic.

This was the moment that would define history. The moment the name Daigo would cease to be that of a young prodigy of the Sand and become the ninja who defeated the Leaf at its peak.

"So... this is the true power of Konoha," Daigo murmured, wiping sweat and Minato's blood from his blade.

With hands firm in his purpose, Daigo began to perform a series of new hand seals. Instead of being fast like any other ninja, Daigo took his time making sure everyone was watching
